Basking lamp for outside the viv?

I want to make a basking spot for my beardie when he is outside his viv because my house is pretty cold.
My question is do you think I could use a regular lamp and a piece of slate as a basking spot?

Yep. It's basically what I do, I use a chick brooder clamp lamp (big aluminum dome from lowes) and a flood light for Pepper's Lizard Tower. It's wood not slate but same idea and slate conducts heat nicely.

You might need a higher wattage bulb than the one in his enclosure but you can position it further away and get a nice big warm spot for him.

I use a clamp lamp with a flood light in it as well and it works beautifully. I usually either clamp it to the side of a chair which puts it 19' up (same as in the tank) or I hook it up to the adjustable stand so it can go anywhere in the room. It works well for travel too.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
