OK Smart (edit)! SOON! Pics SOON!

We had strong storms move thru last night. Electric was out from about 9:30 till just after 7 am this am. (Thank God for the laptop!) Last night at one point we saw reports on the the news websites as we were tracking the storm that there was a confirmed touch down of a small funnel, this morning they are saying possibly just really strong/high winds. Our local post office took a minor hit...blew the A/C off the roof, damaged 10 postal trucks, flipped one. Lots of downed trees on one side of town (we live on the south end). My sons friends' garage was heavily damaged, another family's van was buried with huge tree limbs. Lot's of flash flooding and the rain was in sheets-couldn't see to drive. We stayed in the apt, had the kids in their carriers and the carriers in the bathroom(safest place in the apt). We couldn't head towards my husbands uncles' house as that was the direction the storm was coming from. Assassin was the only one not in a carrier, big baby was clinging to me for dear life! Big chicken! After the storms passed, it took quite a while to get him settled down-he kept roaming his viv and wouldn't park himself anywhere. Had to sit with him on my shoulder for about an hour, then put him in the viv and he finally settled. The town of Eagle, about 20 miles or so West/S. West of us got hit pretty hard, and they are pretty sure it was a tornado. 50 houses damaged, some totaled. Only 1 injury reported. The local news stations are waiting for the National Weather Service to confirm the tornado in Eagle and whether or not here in Muskego if it was just strong/high winds or a small tornado touchdown. If it was a small tornado, then it was only quick touchdowns, and didn't track far on the ground.
All in all, it was a LOOONG night! But, it could have been far worse- I lived in KS for 16 years and we saw much worse there than I've ever seen here in the last 10 years. Thank God for that! I don't miss Kansas storms at all!

Here shortly, I'm gonna take my camera and run over by Janesville rd/woods rd and see if I can get some pics. For now, here's a link to a local weather station with some pics and info on the site: http://www.todaystmj4.com/

They confirmed an EF 2 tornado in Eagle, from the ariel video on the news, the town was hit pretty badly, a lot of homes totaled, and even more damaged. They still have no electricity, tons of trees down and debris everywhere-pretty bad. They've accounted for the residents, and only 1 minor injury. God was looking out for the folks in this town! They confirmed very high winds/strong winds here in Muskego (the storm that hit eagle hit us, but had decreased in intensity, but was still pretty rough). Winds over 100 mph here that caused the damage through parts of town...downed trees, the post office and now they say over 12 postal trucks, vehicle damage, some minor home damages. We have a few limbs down around the apts, but nothing damaged the buildings or vehicles on our street.

Here's a clip from a local news station:

June Storm: Heavy Damage in Muskego
By The WTMJ News Team
MUSKEGO - Eagle wasn't the only area hit by the Monday night storms in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Winds of over 100 miles an hour were reported in Muskego, knocking trees into houses and flipping over boats.

The post office there was hit with damage to over a dozen mail trucks.

There were reports of a tornado in Hales Corners, but no reports of injuries or significant damage.

Heavy damage was also reported in communities like Racine, Fort Atkinson and Whitewater as well.

Now they are saying possibly more storms tonight! Damn!

I was actually more worried about the kids than for myself! Part of the city/town looks pretty rough with downed trees and debris (some really huge old trees were damaged so those winds were REALLY strong-and there is still debate whether it was wind or a small tornado!) We are 1 mile from where the bad damage starts, and only had a few downed limbs, nothing big, in the yards here.

How scary!! I'm so glad that you are ok!! You know, I'm not prepared for something like that...I probably should get ready, we've had power losses in the winter time before so hearing that makes me think about what I would do if something similar were to happen. Poor Assasin, him and Bligg are scaredy cats!!!!

When I got each of the dragons, I bought a new carrier. I lived in KS for 16 years, so, you tend to want to be ready for crap like this! It's the same scenario for winter, I have the carriers plus that hand warmer packs to put in with them if electric goes out and we have to head for a family members house. And, living in an apt (downstairs apt), you worry about fires too. Not leaving my kids behind no matter what!

The 3 girls were a bit stressed too, but not nearly as freaked out as Assassin! It wasn't really the lightning or thunder, until it got really bad and then all the sirens in town started going off! That's when he really started freaking out. He actually fought me trying to get him in the carrier and went scrambling up my arm (I have a bunch of "dragon tracks"-scratches up one are!) He was OK as long as he was as close to my neck/jaw as he could get! Here I am, in the dark, laptop in hand trying to track the storms/radar on the news websites and he's wiggling around my shoulder pressing into my neck! BIG PANSY! So much for the Big tough dragon! LOL

Wow Sandy.. sounds like you had quite a line of bad storms run through your town  Glad to hear you are okay!
Poor Assassin, all scared :( Maybe him and Bligg can find a room in Pansyville together, LOL
I totally understand how frightening storms with high winds and power outages can be. I've been through my fair share of hurricanes and know what 100 mph winds can do. They can be very destructive. Glad to know you didn't get any major damage.

Thanks all! I live a mile from where the destruction and debris started... Drove through those areas yesterday (most anyway, some streets are blocked off because of large trees downed). Some areas of town look pretty rough, but, there's no major damage to homes and no injuries here! That in itself is a blessing for everyone here!

And Yes Lance! PICS SOON!!!! Promise!

And here is the A/C Unit that was blown off of the top of the post office:

Couldn't get pics of the trucks, they had that area completely blocked off.

There's still a lot of debris, a lot of downed trees, etc that's still being cleaned up/cut up.

Pics of Assassin later tonight! We took a ride, then had some play time outside...I'll load them soon.

After fighting with PB for over an hour, I have new Assassin pics for you all! After going for a ride with me today in the van, he got to play outside and climb around the low branches of a couple of trees. He was a bit nervous at first (my big chicken) but seemed to really enjoy it after a few minutes.
Forgive the funny blue tone to the pics, I had something set wrong on the camera.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
