I got Puffy from Petco on June 5th this year. Took her to the vet a few days after for a fecal and she had pinworms which is really common, but other than that, she's been great. She was 11 grams/6 inches when I got her and is 96 grams / a little over 11 inches as of tonight. Like several other people said, just be careful in choosing one with a healthy appearance/attitude. Sounds like the one you're looking would be good :).

Yep, Wolfgang is a healthy Petsmart baby. I haven't had a single issue with him. In fact, he settled into his new home like a dream. I'm pretty sure I was more stressed than he was xD

Got mine from Petsmart & have had no problems. They seem pretty knowledgeable at the one here in my town... some of them own BDs themselves.

Norris came from one of those chains. He was very tiny when I got him. Probably a little bit too small... He continues to have a problem with his weight/eating however his fecal came back from the vet all clear of both worms and eggs. So that's pretty good, eh?

I may have gotten lucky... we went in a few times & talked w/ a few different employees about BDs before getting one. this was before I knew about this blog site... anyway, they were very helpful. we also did some online research. Jazzie's been doing quite well. I did run into a teacher at Petsmart who had bought a BD for her classroom. She wanted to bring it home for the summer. We found out that she was only feeding hers a few crickets every other day. We informed her what she SHOULD be feeding hers. I wish I had known about this site when I saw this woman! anyway, I'm thinking she bought hers there too... not sure. They definitely should receive training & instructions before being allowed to take any pet home. Petsmart did make me sign something promising I would take care of my pet...

Kimba was a Petsmart baby. He was very active, always glass danced whenever I went over to look at him. He's a huge boy and very healthy. (He's also very spoiled). Though I look at the babies in the stores now and can't believe he was ever that tiny. LOL

My grandson's BD came from petsmart, Astro, is so big and healthy with a great personality. Mine came from a small breeder, she is a real pretty orange color but she is the smallest bd and has been so stressed out about everything. She tried to bite me several times when she was smaller. She is a great Bd now except she is sick with a resp infection.
My son's bd came from petsmart as we had such good luck with the first one and he is doing great so far. A great eater that does not mind being held.
I would agree that if they do not stay at the store long they will do great but if they are at the store for any period of time they may not be that heathy as they only feed them a few crickets or mealworms per bd every other day.

Our little one...not so little anymore....ariel came from petsmart and she is great! Has always been happy and active! Got her in january and still growing! I think giving good care helps ALOT! She was our second one from there the first one was sick.

I got both of mine from Petsmart, they dont have much in the way of diversity but they all seem very active eaters with great climbing/jumping ability so good job for who ever is breeding them for Petsmart. Now Petco is a different question they dont have dragons at the local one.

I got my little Memster from Petsmart, it was a BIG struggle at first but I blame most of that on my ignorance. He was only a little over 4 inches long with I got him in June, he is now a thriving 12 inches and 87 grams. There is a risk with buying them from chains like Petsmart/Petco I think, but if you have everything right I believe they can be brought back to good health, most anyway, not all.

We got our Beardie the 3rd from petsmart i'm guessing he's about 8-12 weeks old and haven't had any real problems yet. He started really pigging out 2 days ago eating about 12-15 crickets and a little bit of greens. Tonight he had his first poop as I was getting worried was going to give him a bath tonight to help him however he did it in his water dish right as I got home. Gave him a bath anyways and he loved it.

I got both my beardies from Petsmart, they're in great health. I actually have has three total, my first beardie I got from petsmart died 5 days later due to neurological problems, so they say. the herp. couldn't find anything wrong with him. he didn't eat, move or bask, he just ended up dying and no one had no idea why.

I got my boy Scout from petsmart last year. He was in the cage with one other dragon, lying on top of him(Scout was on top of the other guy), and both were about 8". I saw Scout and fell in love with his colours immediately. I asked to hold him and again, fell in love. He was so calm and his his skin was so rough, it was so much different than the Crested Geckos I was used it. I loved him and his personality so I got him. He's now 17", 16 months, and haven't had any parasites or other problems with him. :3
*looks over at Scout*
He's giving me a stink eye though.
I think it's time to let him bask in the window. XD
But since Scout, we've gotten(in reptiles, not counting other animals): Riza, our other beardie, Kes, our second crested gecko, and Kallista my Ball Python I just got on August 13th. :3 In six days she'll be 2 months old.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
