I don't know a ton about UVB output stuff, I just know Reptisun 10.0 is the best. Honestly though, I've learned that if it's the guy at the store telling me something, it's probably because he wants to sell it, not because it's the best product.

exactly what my bf keeps telling me when i wanna buy something, its 50 uvb microwatts at 19" .. and it cost $49.99 with fixture and bulb as opposed to $39 for a reptisun bulb and $39 for a fixture.. i wish i paid more attention in physics or whatever so id know how good more or less watts of something at different distances work.

You don't have to buy a "reptile" fixture. You can go to walmart, hardware store or any place that sells light fixtures and get an under cabinet fixture or shop light for as little as $10-20 depending on the size. They just don't have the hoods, but you can make those yourself, there's a diy hood thread on this forum somewhere if it matters to you. Personally i don't bother with them.

I would not reccomend getting any of the Zilla uvb bulbs. They do not emit the proper amount of uvb for a bearded dragon and they are very harsh on their eyes. You would be better off getting the Reptisun 10 fluorescent tube.. as suggested. It may seem more costly up front, but in the long run you will be thankful you did. Now that's not to say you cannot use the zilla light fixture, but like ziggy23 mentioned, you can get a fixture at any hardware store or home center.

thankss for the help! i think we found a fixture in the basement .. so just a bulb it is.. I'll return the zilla and grab myself a reptisun 10
