I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. Here's the tracking # if anyone wants to follow her flight: http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z6ET1020195023418&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes We have chosen the name Angeline (Angie for short) which means "messenger of God." I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

Awww! Angie not only held up cars being serviced at the dealership, but she also held up a long line of cars waiting to pay toll. :laughing6:

Wow! They gave you a $15 discount just because Angie entertained everyone? What a deal!

Hmmm, you better come up with something pretty spectacular for tomorrow, or she'll be disappointed.
Rut roh! Now she'll be expecting adventures every weekend!

Oh my, she is something. It's great that everyone loves her so much & for her to be such a good girl for that long a time, she truly is a wonderful beardie :D

And yes, you will certainly need to top today's adventures, anything in mind  She's going to keep you hopping! Can Paul get the picture on his cell phone here? I would love to see it, glowing in front of a Xmas scene at Lowes, that's one for the books!

She already does Gina. She considers weekends as "lizard day" and just waits for us to do something with her.

She behaved so well Deb, it was over a 3 1/2 hr time frame too. She was so excited to see the Christmas trees and decorations at Lowe's, that I had to put her down to let her run around on the floor for a few minutes, then she calmed down. (She had her leash on of course.)

I'm gonna have Paul try to see if he can email the picture of her with the Christmas decorations to me, then I can download it here hopefully.

We kept her busy today, Paul had some outside projects to do that she was right in the MIDDLE of. He was patching some concrete areas that had split so she enjoyed the scraping noises of the trowel but I'm she she would have enjoyed it more if he was using a power tool. After that, Angie & I were out front and she was sitting on the blacktopped sidewalk near our landscaping. Paul started the lawn tractor up to move it, she heard that and started running toward the side of the house. I picked her up and she was scrambling so much that I had a hard time hanging on her. Needless to say, she rode the lawn tractor with him while he mowed some leaves. Then he worked on the water garden with some foam to fill in a few areas around the rocks as there is a slow leak. She sat right at his feet most of the time. Spent at least 4 hrs outside with her today so she was content and tired tonight, thank goodness. 8)

We both have tomorrow off too because it's Columbus Day, so more ideas to think up to keep her occupied. Do have some things to pick up at Lowe's so that may have to be in the plans for tomorrow am. She's not gonna be happy when Paul returns to work on Tues and me on Wednesday.

Angie's such a hoot! If she was human, she'd be turning on and using everything that her daddy does, and of course, scaring the dickens out of you guys.

She sure is a hoot, I've never heard of a beardie so involved with what Mom and Dad are doing outside & the lawn mower  Guess she thinks she owns it, so has to be in it if it's used

Yeah, I guess you could call her a HOOT! Today we took her to Lowe's. On the way in, a man was driving a fork truck and was backing up. She heard the beeping and immediately tried to launch herself in that direction while I was holding her. Then on the way out, someone was trying out a leaf blower and of course, she had to go see that. The more noise something makes, the better she likes it! We have a lot of leaves to blow off the deck so guess I better learn how to use the leaf blower pretty quickly, while holding her. Hopefully it can be done with one hand.

When I use the vacuum cleaner now, one of her feet has to be on the power head with mine, she has to help.

She can spot airplanes or jets miles away, she sees the white dot before I even know it's there. Then she waits for the sound. We have SO many buzzards here and the chickens even squack when they see them, they get quite close. Angie is continuously checking out the sky. She's ok if she sees one up pretty high but anymore than that and she flattens right out with her head laying on the ground. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the low 70's so she will be out with me tomorrow for a while unless the buzzards chase us away. :(

She is so funny & what a handful for you! Have you figured out how to use the leaf blower with one hand yet? Guess you're going to need to get some sort of beardie holder, like a snuggly for a baby, that you can put her in but that she can't get out of....that would be a sight to see!

Rosie's that way with horses that occasionally comes down the road by our home. I remember a couple of years ago she'd suddenly get terrified and try to crawl under the steps at our front door. I picked her up so she'd feel safe and shortly there after someone riding a horse (or two) would come by. I haven't noticed it recently but then I've not been home all the time and when I've been outside with Rosie and Lil Squirt (Princess Squirticus Velcroicus) I've not seen horses coming by. Bill told me that Lil Squirt was a bit apprehensive when one came by recently but Rosie was asleep. Bad news, brumation is here. Squirticus doesn't seem to be brumating but then since she makes us get her up in the morning (with 2 exceptions) so we may not know if she wants to sleep or not, so she won't be sleeping :blob5: :blob8:

No Deb, I haven't tried using the leaf blower yet. I'm not sure she would accept any type of holder, she has to be right near the action and up close.

Lori, so Rosie doesn't like the horses. She probably can't figure out what those huge fuzzy things are. Angie is confused about our 3 chickens. They were out in the yard last night when I was holding her, she just kept looking at each one of them with the "head tilt." But because I wasn't uneasy, she handled it very well.

So, Rosie is brumating now? Squrticus waits for you to get her up every morning? Can we say SPOILED lol?

Sorry Deb. Gina, you're too funny. You heard quite a few Angie stories the other night.

Well, they're both doing well. They are both eating daily and Loki climbs off his basking spot just waiting for his daily super or hornworm. Angie usually eats daily unless she is pouting  and if that's the case, she waits until I have a day off and pigs out after her nap.

Loki has slowed down in his activity level but usually walks around a little daily. Angie is VERY active in the morning, takes a 3 to 4 hr nap in the afternoon, basks, eats & basks again, then she wants to go to bed between 6 and 6:30. Her mornings do start early though when I'm working so she has to get up at 6:15. Loki gets to sleep in until close to 10:00 as Josh takes care of him mostly.

I'm slowly weaning Angie off of the Christmas lights & decorations. She absolutely LOVED them all. When I turn her lights on in the morning, she immediately looks at the (her) Christmas tree just waiting for me to turn it on. Today I put some room decorations away & took down the blue flashing lights over the kitchen sink where she likes to sit on the windowsill to watch the (her) waterfall. Hoping to be able to take the tree down this weekend, probably have to do it on Sunday when she is taking her nap. What a shock it will be when she wakes up and an open space is left behind. They both like sitting under the tree on the tree skirt.

Paul bought her a disco ball to replace the tree lighting so that will probably have to be on daily until she goes to bed for the night. It rotates and throws off all different colors and she likes watching it light up the walls too.

Spring can't come soon enough. Paul & I have both had some sickness this winter, he had bronchitis and I had a severe sinus infection that didn't clear up on an antibiotic so it got worse & I ended up with bulging ear drums and severe dizziness. VERY cold this week, wind chills below zero and we're supposed to get some snow tonight into tomorrow morning, hopefully not much.

Hope that was a good enough update for now guys. Will try to get some pics posted the next few days as long as PB cooperates.

Wow, Angie just loves blinking lights, she loves the disco ball, hopefully that makes up for the missing Christmas tree

Glad they're both doing well and it's expected that they will slow down a bit.

I heard about the weather you're getting, it's from the North Pole, saw the whole forecast on Facebook, looks dreadful. Be safe getting to work tomorrow.

I'm sorry you both have been so ill, is everything cleared up now? There's been lots of flu around here, last week's flu was the first I've had in years.

Sure hope the disco ball is approved by her in place of the Christmas tree. We'll soon find out.

We try to get/keep Loki moving as he puts wt on very easily but he's only eating 1 worm daily. Guess he is just a stocky boy. His body structure is the complete opposite of Angie's.

Hopefully we won't get much snow tomorrow. Supposed to have more where I work, rather than here. I suspect I will be driving into it tomorrow am. The temp is 9 degrees right now but the windchill is WAY below zero. No warm up in sight right now supposed to actually get colder.

Yes, we're doing better now, thanks. Paul just had a DOT physical exam and had to start BP meds. On Thursday, he may have to start diabetic medication as his glucose level was 250. It is more worrisome since he is a truck driver so his job could be at stake.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
