So some of my dragons are now reaching adulthood at 1 year+. I am just about ready to started feeding my roaches and supers and stop buying crix.
So what would be a good schedule and how many roaches and supers should I feed per day?

When beardies grow to adult, you can start giving somewhat less insects and some more fresh veggies. What I do is feed 4 days a week only veggies and feed 3 days a week all the live food he can and will eat. Concerning supplements: I have two vitamin supplements which are to be given 2 times per week one mix, 4 times per week the other mix and 1 day no supplements. At this moment, my schedule is:

Mo-Tu: veggies with vits
We: veggies with vits in the morning, live food with vits as much as he wants to ánd can eat in 5 minutes in the afternoon (basically about 4 dubias and some butterworms)
Th-Fr: veggies
Sa-Su: both days a small bowl of veggies with vits and 2 times a day all live food he wants to and can eat in 5 minutes.

I have dubias as staple and try to add variety with locusts, large crickets, butterworms, wax worms (only as a treat), silk worms and super worms.

The reason for so much veggies is that beardies can develop fatty liver disease when they eat only live food and they never obtain all vitamins and minerals they need when they don't eat veggies.

Duke is over a year old now and I feed him bugs every other day sometimes every few days and big salads everyday. Bugs are dusted with multi vitamins once a week. I feed him butterworms so usually no need for calcium. On the weekends, I like to give Duke his favorites- blueberries and bok choy!

around what age do dragons normallystart cutting back on the live prey? because i have an 8-9 month old and shes has recently cut herself back from 2 meals a day of about 20 crix each to only one of about 30 in the morning then only salad for the rest of the day. i still try togive her some in the afternoon and sometimes she will take one or two but usually just runs too her salad and eats that instead. so is it normal for them to start switching at her age, maybe shes maturing slightly faster than normal...early bloomer

I was wondering that also. my bd is the same age about 9 months and will only eat crickets one time a day now then salad later. she just stoped eating any more crickets later in the day

Our 8 month old will pig out on crickets in the morning eat 2 bowls full of salad inbetween his 2 feedings a day and pig out on crickets in the late afternoon. He still loves his bugs but he loves his salad too. Hes on about a 50% veggies 50% bugs.

Adults should have 80% veggies and 20% live feeders a week. I think i read 30 to 50 live feeders per 1 week divided up how ever you want. We only give our 7 yr old 30 a week. (my daughter prob sneaks him 10 a week extra) But he eats salad/babyfood. If he had his way his diet would be 90% bugs and 10% veggies

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
