A photobiography of my beardie.

I know how you all love pics so I'm gonna post some in here as my little beardie grows up. Sometimes I get a bit lax with things like this so please remind me if I go too long without posting anything...

First off I want to give some shout outs. Janie (zebraflavencs), thanks for all your help and incredible patience! Ian (Ihaggerty1313), thanks for all help with the roaches man; They look really good! dawnki and hammerhead, thanks for all your help with the silkies (I'll get to updating that thread soon)! Aimee (dna14) thanks for calming me down today when I was nervous about leaving the little guy in my brothers care. And to anyone and everyone else who has asked or answered a question on this forum, Thank You! I gained sooo much knowledge here and it culminated in having the best possible conditions for this little beardie.

Some may wonder what it's name is. Well, I won't name it till I know if it's a male or a female. I have two names in mind, but they will remain confidential until I determine the gender.

On to the first couple pics. This is the little guy/gals first bath! It definitely didn't like it. Drank a little, but mostly just scurried around looking for a way out.

It didn't much like the towel either. He/she kept trying to get out and explore more. This is the only time it sat still long enough to snap a pic.

This ones a hyper little stinker! Always moving and exploring. It will settle in my hand for a period of time, but really likes to move around an explore. No relocation stress as of yet. It ate about 15 mini mealworms (not regular mealies, don't worry :) ) and some Mustard Greens today. Unfortunately I was not home at the time so I couldn't get any pics of that. It also left me a stinky surprise to clean when I got home from work. I spared you the pleasure of seeing that

I just added more pics, if you didn't notice. I accidentally hit submit before I was done with my post.

Very cute kittys and beardie. (Just finished reading the whole thing.) Ryuuku has grown a lot!
(BTW I am an anime nut to, never read/watched DN though.) :D :D

Great pics! Thank you for the update... The kitties are adorable, and your Beardie is getting so big! I love them all... Keep the pictures coming. :D
p.s. How's the job search coming along? I got laid off almost 2 mths ago, and it's not easy, I still haven't found a new job. :(

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

laurenee: Thanks! Zeke is going to be a small cat when he is and adult. His parents were very small and he was the smallest of his litter. Loki, on the other hand, is going to be a giant. Both are VERY mischievous little stinkers... Hope all is going well for Gizmo! You know our thoughts are with him :).

HumorDragon: Arigato! Ryuuku just seems to get bigger every day. He went from a baby who's entire body fit very easily in my hand to a fatso who's belly now hangs off either side of my hand so fast. DN, btw, was OK. The anime is worth checking out because it is pretty good. Be warned, though. The ending SUCKED! If you get a chance, check out anything by Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Mizu no Kotoba, Pale Cocoon, Time of Eve). All three are REALLY good. If your ever looking for a good anime feel free to ask for suggestions :).

Angie: Thanks for taking the time to look :). The job search has been all but fruitless since I got out of college. I have a job working at a place I have been at since I was a kid; but it doesn't really have anything to do with my field of study (Fisheries Science/Management), is seasonal (and the season is all but over), and I don't get benefits. I like it there but I need something more stable with benefits, and would really like something in my field. Recently I applied for a position that really caught my interest. With any luck I'll be in Alaska in February. It's a 1 year temp position, but would be great experience wise. Plus it's in Alaska :). I'll have to leave Ryuuku in the capable hands of my mom for the time I'm there, though. I'm really not getting my hopes up because it's pretty much been disappointment after disappointment since I started looking for something, but it would be nice to get it...

I re-worked his viv a bit today after giving it a thorough and much needed cleaning. It's very bare bones now, I'll need to find maybe something else to put in. For now I got rid of the little rocks and added a big ol' basking rock and kept the stick he seems to like so much.

And of course I snapped a few more random pics:

This is my good side:

You're lucky you kept my stick!

Mr. Ryuuku, ready for your closeup?

Sorry bout the color, the MegaRays really messes with the camera. Plus he's shedding so his normal color is starting to fade. The white stuff in the last pic, on his head, is some calcium and vitamins. When I was feeding him a roach fell on his head. Anyway, no worries, it's not anything bad :).

Well, I'm all but out of Turks. Just got about 4 million teeny tiny babies. Very few adults or feedable sized ones. I want to order more but I don't want them to die en route because it's been cold lately. You think they'll be ok as long as I'm here when they get here?

Yeah he certainly wasn't too happy with the whole situation. I had to leave him in the tank with nothing while I ran out to Home Depot to get a new mat for under the tiles. Then I had to scrub down the new rock, clean and oven dry the stick. Then, just when he seemed to be getting used to a tank with nothing in it, I had to take him out to put everything back in. To be nice I put him in the Turk bin to let him eat his fill while I put all the furniture back in. Unfortunately there are so few left they could easily get away from him. That and he wasn't too interested in eating at that point.

Still he pancaked out on his new rock later on:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
