    tile newbie help

I would go biggest possible. I use slate in my Leo tank (4''x4''s and 2''x2''s) and while the pattern looks nice, it's a pain to take them all out to clean and put back. Thankfully they poop in the same spot every day :-) I use a giant sheet of slate (maybe 12'' x 24'') in my beardie tank on...

    Bearded Dragon lighting help

I use a 75w bulb in my 10 gallon Leopard Gecko tank and that barely gets the temp up to 90. Everyone's situation is different though. The energy saver bulbs (compact fluorescent?) probably won't put out much heat if any, so I'm gonna say they are no good. If you have a decent lamp, you should...

    Cleaners????

For my normal week to week cleaning I use white vinegar mixed with water (50/50) in a spray bottle then rinse/wipe twice and make sure I can't smell anything. Then air it out 10 minutes more to be safe.

    Exo Terra Large tanks

I have a 1 1/2 year old Rankin in the 36x18x18. He shredded the background after about 3 months from climbing it all the time and my background melted from the basking bulb as well. Also had the crickets escaping problem--had to stuff paper towels in the holes to stop it. I love the tank, but...

    Slate Tile...

Yeah, my Rankin shredded the background on mine and when I took it out, I noticed that it was partially scorched up top from my basking bulb. Didn't notice that until I took it out. I just went to petco and got a solid black aquarium background for about a $1. Anyway, sorry to hijack, but what...

Can you guys tell me if my enclosure is ready?

Everything looks pretty good. I'll just second everything Zandi said. Also, the Deep Dome light fixture you have will not take a CHE (or so it says on the box). I know because I have the same fixture for my Anoles. So just be careful if you find you need one for night time.

Who has an Exo-Terra terraruim or knows them? I Need advice!

I had the same problem and everyone kept telling me to use the command hooks. Well, I couldn't because of the background. This is what I ended up doing: http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=182533&p=1487130#p1486684 All moot, as I had to remove the foam background today...

    desk lamp

Cheaper and would work better. I personally do not trust them with a 150w basking bulb, but use them for the lower wattage basking bulbs (40-75w) or just to add some light to the tank with my Anoles and Hermit Crabs. I'm paranoid about them with high wattage bulbs because they don't have the...

    Too much UVB?

6-8'' is the recommended distance from the UVB bulb, so you are fine. That said I have seen pics on beardies that received too much UVB. I believe the last instance involved someone that had multiple bulbs in their enclosure.

I need a good basking bulb for my 40 breeder

It's winter in NY (they tell me it's spring, but I'm not seein' it today). My room temps are about 70. I find I have to use 2 bulbs to get a basking spot temp of between 101-107. I use a 75watt basking bulb and a 65watt r20 bulb. With both pointed at the same spot. Gimli has never gaped...

    Mounting fixture inside tank

I actually got mine from Amazon; paid a few dollars more because none of my local Home Depots/Walmarts had it when I needed it, but it was still less than $14 shipped with tax at the time. I also mounted it under the screen with screws, using a leftover strip of door frame molding to mount it...

    Where to buy tile?

You nailed it, Home Depot or Lowes. Much cheaper. I looked in tile shops and while they would sell individual tiles they were expensive.

Where to buy Rankin's Dragon Baby

No color morphs or at least I didn't see any when I was looking.

TWO PACK Reptisun 10.0 Bulbs (ONLY $19.49 PER BULB!)

TWO PACK Reptisun 10.0 Bulbs (ONLY $19.49 PER BULB!) at Big Apple Herps. It was my first time ordering from them, but it was a decent deal even with shipping (which is free if you spend $99). I think all sizes are at that price. I use the 24'' myself...

    Zilla critter cage

I skipped it because I prefer the front opening cages. That said, $75 is a great price and it's a good cage. Cheapest I was able to get a regular 40 breeder was $100 plus the cost of the screen top (about $135 total with tax) at the time I was looking.

    Wattage on UVB light?

If you are mounting the light inside the tank you'll want the 24'', as 40 breeder tanks are only 36'' long. Either would work on top of the screen.

Where to buy Rankin's Dragon Baby

Rankin or Lawsons Dragon is basically a smaller Bearded Dragon. They only grow to be about half the size (10-11'') as an Inland Dragon. They require a smaller enclosure and eat a lot less. I still have him in a 50 gallon enclosure because I want him to have plenty of room, but I've heard of...

how do you use a temp gun

By no means do I have a high quality Temp Gun, but mine only varies within a degree if I scan from close and far away. By far away, I mean a foot or so.

    Slate Tiles

That is actually really cool looking and different. Also cheaper than the faux backgrounds you get it the bigger pet stores,. Nice find :-)
