Help me set malnourished dragons new diet

I would estimate her to be 8 inches tail not included. I'll need to pick up a cheap postal scale so I can get weight.

Help me set malnourished dragons new diet

So haven't been on here in a while but I found myself rescuing another dragon and this is the first place I thought to go to for advice I can trust. My question is about proper diet for an undersized dragon. I know that the protein to vege ratio moves towards veges with maturity but not sure...

    Dubia shortage?

So I've noticed a lot of roach breeders are out of dubia or I should say not selling until they can replenish there stock. The way I understand it the crisis going on with crickets has caused a huge increase in the amount of dubias being sold. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a breeder still...

BEARDED DRAGON - EXTREAMLY LARGE POOP (I think)

Wouldn't a sticky thread about poop be considered a klingon? :laughhard:

    Ants!

I would be very cautious with spraying the ants with anything. If they get sprayed and then crawl in the viv they will bring whatever it is in with them and if your beardie eats any they will ingest the spray. Try to find where they get in and spray them with something that will kill them fast...

    Am I doing everything right?

I noticed you had white paper on the outside of the cage. I did the same thing to minimize stress from seeing his reflection but I realized that when its on the outside he can still see his reflection really well so I put white poster board on the inside back and sides. It seemed to help. But I...

    Possible Illness or Overeaction?

Sounds like your doing what you need to be. I still kinda wonder if he couldn't use a little more UVB, I mean the combination of being 10" away and out of the viv 4 hrs a day. Plus from what you said hes only awake 9 hrs a day and if 4 of that is out of viv then hes only getting 5 hrs of UVB...

    Possible Illness or Overeaction?

How old is your UVB and how close is he to it in his normal basking spot? Thats one of the main reasons a beardie would start getting less active, although normally they would start eating less as well. I'm not sure how well informed you are on care so I'm sorry if I'm just telling you stuff you...

BEARDED DRAGON - EXTREAMLY LARGE POOP (I think)

I wouldn't worry about the poop. I'm not sure I understand the question on shedding though? You say he is shedding but his skin hasn't started yet? I'm going to assume you mean pealing and falling off. I would recommend warm baths once a day. You could also spray him with a warm mist but I don't...

    My new baby beardie..

Actually I'm not sure if he is male or female. As far as I know the males have bumps on either side of their vent and the females just have 1 larger bump? And last I looked "he" doesn't have any bumps flanking his vent, I didn't take that to mean much though cause I don't know when those bumps...

    My new baby beardie..

The first 2 are of Norbert "Limp leggin' it" :D and the last 1 is to show how chubby he is getting. I measured him today and he is around 9" tip to tip and 76 grams.

    Stiff and paralytic

Maybe squish isn't more active when cool but more active when away from that reptiglo? I don't know if they have that intense of an effect but it would explain increased mobility when out of the cage. Easy way to test would be turning off the UVB for a day and seeing what effect it has.. Also...

    Scratching the glass before bed

Huh not a bad idea.. I could even cut it in to strips, no way he would try and eat it and it would make enuf of a pile for a little beardie to bury himself in. Thanks

    Scratching the glass before bed

So I have a 10 week old beardie and every time his lights go off for the night he starts scratching at the sides of his viv. He always does it in the corner where he sleeps just before he passes out. I'm thinking he is trying to dig himself a spot to sleep in. So I'm wondering if there is...

    My new baby beardie..

Actually he just shed his back today. He had shed is legs and tail first, then his head and now today his back. It looks like a bomb went off in his viv with all the shed scattered about.

    First snake suggestion.

I've never had a corn but I know they are good 1st time snakes. I'd go for the ball python tho. They are very hardy and very easy to care for. They very rarely bite and are easier to hold since they don't squirm nearly as much. So if your into holding your snake a ball python might be a better...

Baby closing his eyes a bit..

update: Well he still does the eye closing thing but thats it. He doesn't show stress marks anymore really, he poops everyday and he is currently shedding. So all in all he is doing well. We are still working on handling, he runs away most of the time when we try to pick him up but I think thats...

    Elvis isn't pooping...

I would keep giving baby food squash mixed with some applesauce and pedialyte and a touch of olive oil. I fed something along those lines (except I added protein) to my beardie with MBD who had been on cat litter with a previous owner. She eventually passed the cat litter and started going...
