    Single Feeding

When should I go from feeding (insects) twice a day to once a day? This is my BD ... He is around 6-7months old, 230g, 15.5 inches and is getting insects twice a day with a salad to graze from.

    Starting Superworm Feeders

Do you think I could start my BD on supers yet? Not sure his exact age ... Think is about 6-7 months based on what breeder said when I got him. (I have had him 4 months). He is eating jumbo Silikies and some roaches (ate adult male the other day) now. Space between eyes is around 1.25 inch ...

How to protect our little guys :)

Yes ... That is what most folks use ... as long as the heat is over 150 degrees when it hhits the surface being cleaned ... It will kill everything ... Just keep it close to the surface and it works great :)

    Got some Phoenix Worms!

PWs are fine if you have a small BD ... Once they get bigger ... they are to small and need toooooooo many and that adds up FAST! Roaches and Silikies are the best for your money.

Silkworms ... High on the list

Right the black ones are not dead ... Jus close to pupating ... THey are higher in Cal at that point because they store it up to make their new armour when they morph to solider flys ... They are a good feeder ... Just to small for the money :( Silkies and Roaches rule!!! You should get some :)

    Got some Phoenix Worms!

Ya you have to be able to get past the eww factor to have them ... If you put them in a glass dish they can not get out (They can not climb smooth surfaces).

    Got some Phoenix Worms!

PWs have one BIG issue ... To little for to much ... For what you pay for them you do not get a lot of meat ... For about the same price you can get silkies which are meaty :) And if you can get past the ewww factor Dubias are the best!!! (They have the largest meat to shell ratio by FAAAAAAR)

Silkworms ... High on the list

Right ... My whole thing with PWs is they are to small (takes way to many to feed a larger BD) ... And they turn black fast when you get the large ones (they are closer to morphing) ... Silkies take a little more care ... But are much more feeder for the money ... Still think Roaches are the...

Silkworms ... High on the list

Why are silkworms not more popular? ... Next to Roaches they seem like the best feeder ... Phonix worms --- To much money for what you get (small for the price ... BD has to eat like 100 to get full and they are $45 for 1000) ... Mealies --- no good, Supers --- Good but have to worry about...

    Less Chitin

What is the minimal size your BD should be before starting on SW ... I have also read many many different answers for this also.

    Less Chitin

I have come across this statement on several forums (Mostly Gecko Forums) ... "Superworms have less chitin (exoskeleton) than the common mealworm." ... Is it turn? ... and if so why do we say Impaction is most possible (feared) with Superworms then Mealies? :study: REFERENCE :study...

    Superworm Breeding

I understand the basic setup for breeding superworms ... Just need to know when they are seperated individually into smaller containers to pupate, should you put any bedding in with them (oat meal or bran)? ... or Should they be left seperated with nothing at all to pupate?
