Ok. Gotta start breeding and stop spending $ on feeders lol! Tips on breeding crickets, dubias, Phoenix worms, etc? How to keep them from smelling like DEATH? Any and everything is helpful haha
Crickets are going to stink either way. Dubias are much better smell wise and noise wise. The key is to keep the cricket bins clean by giving them a good clean out a couple of times per week. A roach bin doesn't need to be cleaned very often though and is generally much less maintenance. Here is some info about how to get that started https://www.southtexasdragons.com/dubia-roaches.html
Never done crickets but I keep my dubia and my superworms together in a tank with a soil substrate, branches and leaf litter. The smell is minimal.
I have my BSFL (summer only) outside - they reek. Composter buckets are super easy to make (mine was probaly $10 innparts) and as long as you keep them fed they breed.
