Brumation

Hi all, my name is Isabel and I have a 14 month old bearded dragon. He’s been preparing for brumation for the past week but I’m unsure if he’s old enough to safely go into it...

Hes 17 inches and weighs 400g.

Hi Isabel,

Honestly I've heard a lot of people say it's not safe or healthy for them to brumate under a year but my Gretchen started brumating in December at 10 months old. She's a healthy big girl at 17 inches and 380 grams. She's still brumating now.

Just be sure when your guy goes down to get him out and in the bath every week or so and offer him some water. As long as he's not losing too much weight he will be fine.
I freaked out a bit with this but this group really helped me out.
If he does go into brumation make sure he has his final pop before. Keep us posted ?
