His tail is injured. It could have been bit by a cage mate before you got him.
It appears to be healing good. Keep it clean and if it becomes swollen or the wound starts traveling up the tail, get him to a vet.
Most likely its well scabbed over and will eventually dry up and fall off

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
