and sorry, which one, because I looked online and there are different strengths types? If you could send me a link to a site? Prefer a UK one if someone finds the correct one on there. :(

Hi,
That is awesome your little one can be seen today by someone with some experience!
Here is a link where you can purchase Baytril without a prescription but it's in America.
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Baytril.html.
Tracie is very knowledgeable and experienced
in all aspects of Bearded Dragon care including health care. As advised, let her calculate
the correct dosage for your little one. Baytril is harsh on the dragons system so having
the exact correct dosage is important especially because your dragon is so young and tiny.
It is recommended to give a probiotic daily while your little one is on antibiotic. You don't
have to go buy expensive preparations. Soy yogurt will replace the good gut flora the
antibiotic kills. Make sure it's soy yogurt not dairy yogurt, dragons don't digest dairy well.
I hope this helps. I'm still looking for a UK supplier for you.

Hello thankyou very much! She has just had BM with urates and a sloppy poo the same colour of the baby food so thats a good thing I guess. She is very weak never moves, she falls from her basking rock :( she is also very very skinny, despite my efforts with food. She does not have the energy to go to open her mouth when I try feed her so feeding is getting really difficult at the moment! I will get some soy yoghurt and more baby food from the supermarket today! I am at the vets in 2 hours... I need some advise on a few things quickly if possible.

1)Because she is in such a weak state, do you think I can still treat her for RI even if she doesn't have it? I am not sure the vet will be any good but I have now ran out of options...
2) In all honesty she does not look like she will make it, as I say, she is very underweight, eyes always closed, no response to anything EVER, not even the feeder needle, and not even when it goes to her throat anymore. I am worried that the vet will tell me to have her put to sleep but I don't know whether to trust this? I hope, that she is just exhausted, not needing to be put to sleep, and I don't want her to suffer anymore but will it be bad of me to keep her and keep trying?
3) If the vet offers an injection, shall I say no? After all she is so weak and I would rather use a syringe, but I have never dealt with an ill dragon so I need advise.
4) Because he is a vet that sees reptiles but not a complete specialist, what must I watch out for, and any suggestions as to how I can make the most out of my appointment?

Thank you again!

Thankyou very much I will see if the vet has some- going to be expensive but I hope I can cover it until I get payed. I don't want to wait very long, they may deliver to UK from US though, I appreciate everyones efforts so much!

I wish I had answers for you, unfortunately I don't. Only you can make the decision about your dragon.
I wouldn't treat for a RI if she doesn't have one as the antibiotic can be harsh, but it sounds like a strong
possibility that's what she has. I can tell you Dragons are tough and it is possible for them to recover
from acute illness with some intensive supportive care by you, but only you are seeing her right now and
can know how weak and critical she is.
I'm not sure what to tell you to watch for at the vet visit, not much help, I know! I'm hoping someone else
will pop in with some help for you. I'm sorry she is so sick!
I'll be thinking of you and sending all good healing thoughts to her.

Thankyou- I hope so too, I know it is my gut feeling I would post a pic if I had the time need to sign up to Photobucket etc... She is so weak I don't want to harm her even more she has nothing to her! But I suppose I could try treat her there is not much option left! I wish I could have caught it early, she has been ill for a week but showed no signs of UR until the other day it happend so quickly :(

Those are great ideas. You may also be able to buy it from online but considering you won't want to wait for it you will have to try to get it from a vet clinic. If one tells you no then call another, Im sure they'll sell it to you. Let us know how she's doing!

Boy she does sound kind of bad. Let us know what your vet says. I understand your feelings, when my dragon was dying they asked if I wanted to put her down but I couldn't do it. I felt like i was giving up on her if I did that. Good luck and we all support whatever you decide, we know you love her and will do what's best for her.

Right guys, here is the situation...

I went to the vet- who was very useless, in fact so useless that I requested not to pay the consultation fee. Now, I know Chacoby looks like she is about to die, but I am not giving up! I told him the story and then he just looked and said 'yeah' I literally had to coax him into talking. He checked her mouth and closed it, I said 'could you see any mucus then?' and he said no but it looked a bit pale or dark (I cant remember what he said and said that it might be UR as I suspected. I said that I had been speaking to near experts on a forum, but the issue was that you were all in America, and I mentioned that I wanted some Baytril. He suggested an injection to 'get it in her properly' and I don't think she is strong enough so I refused. He also said 'I had nothing to lose' when I asked him whether I should or not :(

So I am at a brick wall again... I got the Baytril. 1ml- 2.5% oral solution. He weighed Chacoby and he said he needed to work out a dosage, because she didn't even show up on the scales, at 10g I think it was so he said she is less than that. 5-10g he then later told me I should speak to 'the woman I mentioned' meaning Tracie about the dosage. I am so furious!

His final diagnosis was that she may have been born like that and it was hard to tell what was wrong.

Anyway I have tried everything! I am now going it alone :(

Chacoby is...

very skinny, not moving, eyes closed, moved slightly to gasp, exhausted. Still pooping baby food but its getting harder and harder to feed her. I am currently feeding her baby food of which I have looked in my 3 main shops nearby and they have a massive selction of it but I can not get just one thing or just another it always has some things in that bearded dragons can't eat. :( I finally bought organic squash and sweet potato baby food ingredients:

Organic butternut squash 43%
water, organic carrots 16%
organic sweet potato 10%
Organic Quinoa flakes 4%

Will the Quinoa flakes be okay? I chose it because the thing I wasn't sure about feeding was very little 4%. That is the best I could get after reading loads of different ones :( It is dairy free.

I also got this one which I have used before but its the best I could find apart from the one I got today.
Organic sweet potatoes 48%
organic carrots 30%
organic broccoli 22%
other stuff 0%
Also dairy free.

I have Avipro plus which is a probiotic, but I also bought the yoghurt that was suggested. In my major supermarket they all had milk in the probiotic yoghurts, so the only one that I thought would be suitable was Alpro Soya, Yoghurt Cultures.
Ingredients:
Water, hulled soya beams, sugar, tri- calciumate, stabiliser (pectin,) acidity regulators (citric acid and sodium citrate) Sea salt, flavouring, vitamins b12, D2, emulsifier (Lecithin) yoghurt cultures (S.Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus) Antioxidants (Ascorbyl palmitate, Tocopherol-rich extract.)

I also have Dioralyte (like pedialyte) but I don't know how often to switch between all of the things I have...

So now I am at a brick wall- I also need help with the doasges and see if anyone thinks I should try treat her, please help I have no other options left :(

Thankyou so much

So...

The foods u got sound ok, don't feed the carrot one as often though since carrots contain vitamin A. The yogurt u got is fine, as long as it has no dairy. The quinoa flakes you got though are alot higher in phosphorus than calcium which may lower her calcium levels too much which she needs alot of since she's so young. pedialyte is great to give when they dehydrated, you could mix it in with her food. You got the unflavored one right? I'm glad u got a hold of some baytril, I don't remember how much my dragon weighed when she was taking it, will have to check.. Good luck and u are doing well!

Hello, thanks for your reply, so shall I switch between both flavour foods as they both have carrot in, some less than others! Been a right pain to get hold of something half decent. Yes I am hoping that Tracie can help with the dosage aswell. I need something to really bulk her weight up, any ideas? I wanted to give it 2-3 days an try to get some sort of fat onto/into her before i started the treatment as there is literally nothing to her :( :banghead:

there is only a tiny amount of the quinoa in the food so hopefully that should be okay, I have looked everywhere and I have had no luck! UK is crap! As I already have a probiotic Avipro, can I also mix a tiny dioralyte? Together or do one one day and the other day change? When should I feed the yoghurt? I don't want to overdo it all.

She just opened her eyes when I had a nosy at her :) She is such a cutie, hoping she can fight this. Thankfully my Xena is not demanding too much attention through all this, but she is being a rascal as unsual :) Some things cheer me up! I feel at a brick wall but I am determined!

As she was breathing funny, I was concerned about baths, I really do want to make sure she is hydrated though :( So I need to work out a reasonable limit of baths per day.

My dioralyte is Blackurrant. My partner is in the military and he brought me it as he gets a lot for free I think :) So could I just give her that in water? I also have Reptoboost, and someone suggested a bath in blue powerade? Not sure about that one?

I am confused about all these products and need some sort of a plan. Her lights are on at 7.30am and go off at 9.30 but I sometimes keep them on a little longer... When the tank has gone cooler and the rock is cool I put her onto a hot water bottle for the rest of the night to ensure she keeps warm.

Just want my cheeky beardie back :(

Sorry to add to this, does anyone know a reputable place where I can buy a decent digital themometer with probe? Preferably measures humidity also? Where I get Reptisun 10.00, and where I get the fixtures?

Hello,

I am sorry you had so much trouble at the vets, but, at least you got some Baytril.
What type of syringe do you have, is it a 1ml syringe? I need to know to dilute the solution down. How did it come, in a bottle, correct?
The easiest way to medicate is to first dilute the 25mg/ml or 2.5% solution down to a weaker solution since the stronger dose would be harder to give a dose for since you are looking at micro units!
Please let me know what type of syringe you have & I will send the dose.
Oh no more baths right now, it will complicate her respiratory issues. Just add a little extra water in with her babyfood, to help with hydration.

Thanks.
Tracie

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
