Sorry, I am at work but a vet without the experiance in exotics wouldn't be very helpful. All animals react differently to different drugs so they would not know what to prescribe. You could still get the blood test done though. Tracie (which has posted in here a couple of times already knows how to read blood work well and know what's too high or too low) she would also be better at knowing what drugs you could give her, how much and if it's safe too. I don't know that much about what drugs to give beardies so I don't want to tell you it's ok to give her anything. You could try messaging her, she was very helpful with me when I lost a beardie to renal failure. We will try our best to help you.

Edit: yeah just be sure to keep them separated and contine to wash hands between both and it should be alright. Just keep an eye on her in case she starts to act like the other one since they were in the same cage together. Be sure she also isn't using anything the other beardie was without washing first

Your welcome, I'm sorry I couldn't help more. I am still kinda new at studying reptiles, she is the best on this site that I've seen.

All you can do until you get all the help we are able to give is just be there for her. Lay her at an incline so it helps her like tracie said earlier and keep the heat up. It is a hard thing all us beardie parents go through, feeling helpless. Just hang in there :(

Yes it is awful, I am considering rehoming my other beardies Xena, and both if Chacoby get's better, I have the time and care and love to keep them, but there is no reptile specialist near me whatsoever and this is worrying me incase I ever need one :( I really don't want to and it breaks my heart to think I should but I don't know what to do :?

Yeah that sucks :( you think that there would at least be one vet in your area that knows exotics. It's sad that reptile vets are few and far between. Did U try all vets around you? Did you see if maybe ones that are 1/2-1 hr away do exotics?

Yes there is one about 1 and a half hours away, but it isn't possible for me to get there at this time due to lack of funding, being at the end of my wage and I do not drive. I have not got the heart to rehome though :( I just hope a normal vet can help for now.

Yeah I can understand you not being willing to give them up. Hopefully you will be able to find a herp vet in the future.

It's 1.30am, and I have just been looking at Chacoby, same as last night, she doesn't move is so fragile and gasps now and again. I really need some advice as soon nas possible about my earlier posts please :( I don't know what else to do,I am scared of giving too many baths, too much water, too much food, because she needs it, but I can not know if it is helping as she does not respond to anything :( I am so sad at the moment and feel out of my depth, I have no clue how to help her more :( I hope she is okay in the morning thanks for your help guys x

I'm so sorry your little one isn't doing well. The lack of educated experienced reptile vets is stunning. I believe I read you were in the UK? Unfortunately we have the same sad problem here in America. That vet was crazy to send you to a reptile shop owner! :banghead:
I have a couple suggestions, might work, might not but may be worth a try.

Do you have a vet school anywhere near you? If you do I would give them a call and explain the situation. No reptile vet near you, your beardie is sick and you suspect a severe respiratory infection due to the symptoms. Explain symptoms. Tell them a local vet who doesn't do reptiles sent you to a reptile shop for exam and advice and this is unacceptable to you since you're Beardie is in real distress. Ask if they have any vet students, under the watchful eye of qualified vet instructors, available and willing to examine her now and prescribe antibiotics if needed. At vet schools here some will provide exams and care at no cost for the experience it gives the student vet, of course they are advanced students and the instructors are all qualified vets and supervise everything.

Another thing you could possibly try is to contact an animal rescue organization and explain there isn't a reptile vet near you and you need immediate help for your Beardie who you suspect has a severe respiratory infection. Ask their advice on where to get emergency care for your little one. Explain the local non-reptile vet sent you to a reptile shop for advice and care which is unacceptable, you need a vet to see your little one. Ask about a care grant program which cover the cost of the visit and meds. Some rescue organizations have those.

I hope something works out for you, I'm thinking of you and your little one!

Hello,

I am sorry your dragon is having so much trouble.
Is there any way you can get hold of Baytril solution? I can help you dose her if you can get hold of some. Please don't try to give it without dosing instructions.
I would not give any baths right now with her having such a horrible time of breathing right now.
If you are unable to find a vet, try seeing if you can find a rescue facility to call or go by to try & get some help as well.
I agree, you can try talking with a vet school to see if they can help also, because most vet students would jump at the chance to help!

Let us know how she is doing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
