Hi I skipped a couple of posts to say this so I might have missed something about this already being said. Please don't relocate your sick bearded dragon. She is already weak and you don't want to add relocation stress into the mix. It is probably a much better idea to move your healthy happy strong beardie and let your ill beardie recover where she is used to being so she doesn't have extra stress put on her. I'm going back to finish everyone's comments but I wanted to put that in quickly.
Best of luck to you and your dragons!
Carrie

EDIT and I was too late Oops. clicking gasping for breath, mucus discharge are common signs of a RI.

I don't know if she is going to make it :( I pray that she does and I will try get her to a vet tomorrow, hopefully more helpful than the last time, she has not been showing any symptoms of this at all 3 weeks ago she vomited and went exactly the same and back to normal, then a week ago she started doing this again and the gasping started tonight :( I really don't want to go to sleep but I don't want to bother her, she is only 3 months old and lifeless, she stopped eating after the vomiting. Is it safe to give her a warm bath now, or wait until the morning?

Let her sleep for now as this could stress her, she needs her sleep and heat to help fight the infection. Do you have a night time heat lamp? I love ceramic heat emitters for night time use (it gives off heat with no light at all to disturb your beardie) they are a bit more expensive than other bulbs though. Make sure you let your vet know that she has been making those noises, she does seem to have alot of the symptoms. RI is curable and can be fixed with immediate treatment so dont give up hope!

I do not have one but I have placed her on a hot water bottle covered in a blanket (the bottle.) She sleeps all day every day at the minute and I am not giving up hope but she is not breathing at all and is only taking big gasps, she doesnt move and I don't know how I did not notice this before? I have been monitoring her very carefully all day and night and this only started tonight but she has been ill for the past week. I really hope the vets can help thankyou

I moved her into another tank as it wouldn't have been possible, I will swap the beardies around tomorrow if this would be better?

I feel so stupid to have moved her to another tank, I don't know why I did, she is in the exact same place though above the old tank with her familiar rock. I can put her back into the other one tomorrow if you think this would be beneficial?

Ok good, just make sure she stays warm. If you want you can prop her head up a bit if you feel it helps her but dont move her too much so it doesnt stress her. Sometimes when they are so small its hard to see them breathing when they are but since she is opening her mouth she must be dealing with some trouble breathing. Im glad you will take her to a vet in the morning, be sure to update us on how shes doing tomorrow after the vet visit. I hope for the best for her! :)

Its no problem, we are all here when you need us :D

I also recommend you get a multi vitamin supplement if you dont have one. I noticed you mentioned a calcium one but not a vitamin one. I suggest herptivite from Rep-cal. It contains Beta carotene instead on Vita A so your beardie isnt in danger of Vita A toxicity. I would use the multivitamin 1-2x per week and the calcium one 4-5 times since she is small (a tiny pinch is good) and needs alot to grow. Happy Beardie Thoughts :)

Hello,

Please do let us know how she is doing. What time are you taking her into the vets?
I wouldn't feed her anything tonight as that will further aggravate her breathing. Try & place her on a slight decline to help with breathing a little better. The tank temperatures need to be around 80 or so to help with her immune system.
I hope she makes it through the night.

Let us know how she is doing.

Hello Chacoby made it through the night :) There is no reptile specialist near me vet wise and I called one of the vets and she said we do take a look at them but referred me to a guy who owns a reptile shop which she said is an expert also. I took Chacoby there wrapped in her blanket and heat bottle, and he said I can only do what i am doing and try some other things like getting protein in her. The vets wouldn't do an Xray on her or a blood test at this stage because she is so lifeless and very wobbly like a little doll. If I can help her I will be taking her to get a full check over when she is healthier. I hope she gets better :( the clicking noise I thought she had is just the sound of her mouth I think, not a noise she makes when she does it. I am really worried now because if Xena was to ever get ill where would I take her? There is no vets around here specialised and I didnt know that. :( The guy said it is most likely an internal problem, and that the vets will tell me to do the same thing until she gets better and then I can have her xrayed. Would it be possible to go to a normal vet for Xray's and blood tests, I know that fecal is possible through these. I don't get payed until the 31st but I will send a fecal off then. Trust it all to happen when I am at the end of my wages :( :banghead: Chacoby is breathing better now but still opens her mouth on occasion. I am finding it difficult to get food in her now though, more so than before! Does anyone have any more suggestions? What could a normal vet do?

Also stupid but I must ask, I have been getting the contents of a waxworm out to add a little fat and I lost one, I know this sounds stupid but I can't find it anywhere in my room, I hope this doesn't cause any major issues? Not used them in the past.

Thankyou to all of you for your help!

Also, someone mentioned a respiratory infection, since there is no specialist to help me and diagnose this, would a normal vet be able to? And would it harm to treat her for one anyway? I don't know how I would go about doing this though...

Hello sorry but can someone respond? I really want to know if a vet would be able to prescribe me with antibiotics if she did have an RI and if she could detect it? If she suspected that or didn't and I still treated her, then would this harm, she is very skinny and limp in a bad way now :( When I first went to the vet he didn't suspect this and told me to do what I am doing, but it is as if it has just appeared out of nowhere! Is there anything I can specifically ask him for if there is an RI? Also will a normal vet have the correct treatment? I know I have seperated the dragons and washing hands between handling each of them, could this pass to Xena?

Please help! :banghead:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
