My 4 and a half month old girl Zuma took a pretty big bite of paper towel while she was catching a cricket this morning. Do I need to be worried about impaction of any other adverse affects?

She should be fine. A small amount is not really a problem. The paper towel will break down in the stomach and digestive tract, and should pass through. Just keep an eye on her, make sure your basking temps are in the 105F range, and all should be good.

Glad I could help. Paper towel is a very safe substrate because it is easily broken down in the tummy and is not toxic in any way.

my silly beardie did the same thing to me a couple of times...the darn paper towel would curl up and she would chomp on it ...
The paper towel isnt going to cause impaction ...i never even saw it in her fecal...it must have disintegrated

but just to make you feel more at ease check on her make sure she is acting normal.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
