I am not familiar with the looks of poop while feeding the pellets. It looks dark to me. If it stinks that badly, a fecal exam might be in order.

Pellets do have lots of green ones in them. That poop sure is green though. I agree with Esther, if it smells badly, definitely get a fecal checked asap.

How's Batman doing? Any poop sample yet?

Got one today but it's a little iffy. Still a lot of water. That one is in the fridge and it will go out with the one he gives us tomorrow :) Definitely a difference though without his bath! So I think tomorrow's should be the better sample of the two. Thanks for checking :) and for looking at that other poop. It's terribly green but I only feed dubia and veggies so I couldn't comment!

Edited to add: his poop REALLY KINDA stunk today. Not "clear the house" but stinky. I don't smell it often though cause usually it's in the tub. So j wouldn't even know the healthy poop smell!

Good that Batman cleaned out some. Even though there is a lot of liquid in it, they can still test it. Once I had to remove a sample from bath water and the vet was able to run it and I did find out there were parasites in it, so something to keep in mind.

Poop always has a yucky smell of course but if the tank ever still stinks after cleaning it up thoroughly, then it's good to have a test done. Thought I would post that for others to read too.

Ok...trick question...ready? No bath today in hopes of a solid poop tomorrow, BUT, as a mom I tried to give him a little drink from his dropper (per usual) and he RESISTED!! Question is...if I'm avoiding baths for a solid poop should I have even attempted any hydration or was I undoing my own work?! Haha!

He wanted nothing to do with it anyway. Literally got ONE drip into his mouth and he HATED me for about 10.5 seconds

It's fine to offer oral fluids anyway. See, no reason to feel guilty about not bathing every day, he is fine with it. :p

Ugghhhhh...I will NOT argue cutting back on baths and won't do it every single day anymore. Just remember how sick he was Diane?! I'm scarred for life!! Haha! I know. I'll get over it but the bathing was so important at one time and I'm having a hard time letting it go

Yes, I certainly do remember how sick he was but don't forget that the temps were off at the time too. You've done awesome with him. If you feel better about bathing him every day, just do a short bath daily.

You're right...there were many other "culprits" and reasons for how ill he was and I try to remind myself of those. They were such simple mistakes to cause such harm. Things I'd extensively researched and things just went all wrong all at once.

I want to purchase a syringe for the water though. I think the medicine dropper sort of intimidates him with the water just waiting to drop in him or on him!

Remember this? Thought for sure we would lose him that night:

And look at all the help you gave us and what it has done for him!

Yes, it is a "poop thread" but it's ok to be thankful for how well he is doing and how far he has come already.
He is just the cutest thing. :love5: Have to admit that he did look very unhappy in that first picture, BUT look at him now! :D

Leaps and bounds, Diane. Yes, I do have the strainer by the tub, Esther... as he is being bathed tomorrow since he's in a FULL ON SHED. Plus I feel giving a day of no hydration is enough for this mommy to worry about.

Poop is important. I just want to be 100% sure there's nothing there. He's now 4.5 months TODAY and he has been WITH us for 4 of those months. So, I do feel even as a precaution...a fecal is due.

I've learned a lot from all of you and I plan to give my beardie AND true fire skink the very best care I can offer and provide them with the love they truly deserve :D

Yes, I'm VERY grateful. (Coming from someone who cringed at the very thought of even the WORD "reptile" 4.5 months ago today, never mind "lizard" or "dragon").

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
