Certainly happened a bit too quick for me, Diane. If we're being honest, I wasn't ready for the emotional attachment and love for these guys to become so prevelant so FAST.

How long can poop stay fresh enough for a fecal test once refrigerated?? Or, how long will the refrigerator keep it fresh enough for accuracy? They were put in the fridge immediately.

Last night was a long one, and this morning was pretty tough too. So my words aren't really forming proper sentences...I apologize.

I'm not sure how long samples are viable. I do know that it sounds like you need a nap. Any chance of that happening?

Yeah. Hubby is taking my human to run errands. I got a little sleep but was so concerned for Liz's baby, Ava. Just wanted so desperately to help like everyone here has for me and at least show as much support as possible.

I feel like I can't in good conscience not give back when SO many here have been through so much with me, you know? It's not just our babies anymore. I've really felt that I've also created some pretty deep bonds with a lot of the people here, too.

Darn heart strings. Always being tugged at in one way or another. I'm just happy if I can help in ANY way.

My concern with the poop: we are mid heat wave here. Like 100+ and though I HATE to wait as I feel it's now necessary...I may have to try for a couple new samples and send when the weather cools a bit. Should happen by Monday but my samples were from yesterday and Thursday - Thursday's being our best bet for a good sample.

Yup. I'm rambling. Time for AC and a good Lifetime movie on the couch. Maybe even ice cream

The fresher the poop sample, the better. I've heard 24 hrs in the frig is fine so I would try to get a fresh sample to send on Monday or Tuesday. Wouldn't want to go through the trouble of sending the ones you've had stored and found out they were no good, right?

Agreed! Collected one good one today and won't bathe until I get another good one tomorrow. My boy keeps overheating with this weather. Diane, what should Batman's body temp actually be? Not the viv or anything but him...if you know. I remember in our PM you mentioned the temps I gave you of his body and head were a bit too high in your opinion. I'd love to know for future reference...and darn heat waves.

Also, I've just waited for poop before a bath. They're much better samples that way...duh, Kris.

Apparently when I panic I'm not very logical. I mean...come ON. Why collect after a bath?? That really sounds pretty ridiculous thinking about it now. Sheesh.

Not so illogical if the bath is where your dragon goes to the bathroom. When I said manipulating pictures, I didn't mean color. I should have said arranging them. I am in awe of folks like you who can post pictures, and the collage thing is even more impressive. You have an adorable boy, and his shirt is awesome!

Oh it's so simple the app just allows you to put images in boxes and frames I didn't think you'd assume I'd make them "prettier" in any way, as I doubt it is even possible

Batman didn't have any coccidia but I did find over 30 pinworms eggs. You might want to give him a couple doses of panacur in the next couple months. They looked like he has had them since before you got him, most likely from crickets. If you want to test him again after treatment or wait 6 months, we could make sure they are gone and don't come back."

Luckily, pinworms are easy to get rid of. The Panacur is very mild on a dragon's system, and only takes a couple doses a few weeks apart. You would probably want to do some probiotics, but it shouldn't be much of an issue to kick them!
