That is a good one too, there are some listed in the For Sale forum, lots of people selling feeders.

I would love to purchase these for our new baby beardie but we live in Phoenix and temps are in the triple digits so having them shipped is out of the question til October. I haven'e yet found anyplace local that sells them. Anyone else in the Phoenix area know of a place locally?

Thanks

Cannot beat the Phoenix Worm Store for Phoenix Worms. Mulberry farms has great silks and horns but they have been out of stock forever it seems. Linda'sgonebuggie had great horns but scrawny silks and half dead phoenix worms and were not up front about being out of stock delaying my order for 2 days. Who has it all? Same here on Cape Cod.....no local venders or none that I know of.

Reptiworms.com will ship with instructions to hold at the post office.

If you want to buy locally, check out Arizona Reptile Center on Dobson and Broadway in Mesa - nice people, beautiful reptiles and a bunch of different feeders! (not sure if they have phoenix worms - call them!)

thanks for the info. Someone at Petsmart who own his own dragon also mentioned that place in Mesa.

I've already given him some small mealworms the first couple of days we had him so of course now I worry that I hurt him :( But he seems good to me, hated his bath today. Was OK with a little misting though. We have had him since last Thursday and he's eaten 12 crickets each day so today I increased them just a little to 15 and he ate them ALL within one minute!

He's been basking and has had his mouth open a lot today while basking, I've heard this is normal. I had stick on thermometers right now but ordered a temp gun that should be here by Wednesday.

Who knew I could love and worry about a lizard so much!

Dubs and I swear by www.Phoenixworm.com. Dubs loves them, and can eat a 80-100 at a time.

Phoenix worms are easy to care for - just keep them in a cooler with an ice pack so it's always 50-60 degrees. They'll die in the fridge. I actually keep ours on an air conditioning vent so the cold air keeps them in suspended animation, or if it's cold outside I keep them in our garage. You don't feed them at all.

To feed them to your beardie, fill a cup with warmish water, and dump a handful of phoenix worms in. The worms will float and the packing material will sink. Then scoop the worms out onto a paper towel to dry them off a bit, put them in a little dry bowl, and let your beardie chow down! (Dry worms can't climb out of a dry bowl). I hand feed Dubs because he tends to slurp them like they're spaghetti, and then poop undigested worms. If I put one or two on my hand at a time he actually chews. It takes longer, but he's so cute it's worth it.

The darker worms actually have more calcium, so use them first. Word of warning - if you leave the top off of the container when you're feeding your beardie, the dark ones will get out and try to find a suitable place to transform. If a few do happen to get out and turn into flies, no biggie. Your beardie can eat them too.

it is entertaining watching them go after the flies.

thanks. I ended up ordering them from phoenixworms.com so we will see what happens. if Sobe likes them I might try the reptiworms.com next

I have ordered PW's from phoenixworms.com and they are great! One standard shipping fee no matter how many you order! Have had NO die off rate, and try to feed the dark worms first so no flies yet! Mustashio eats like 40 of them at a time and he's only about 5 months old! Little piggy dragon!

Have a question about undigested worms in poop though. Is it just because they inhale them without chewing? I saw quite a few in Tashi's poop this morning, and as far as I know this is the first time. (He pooped in his bath this morning so it was more noticable!) He usually does inhale them, but the only thing different was last night I fed him much later than usual and it was very close to lights out time. Does this make a difference or is he just eating too fast?

they need a minimum of 2 hours basking to digest them fully. if you feed him a lot of worms just leave him to bask a little longer.

I gotta say Phoenix worms version seems much more healthy then reptiworms version
Eh, the reptiworms grew and moved around. The PW's smelled and actually died on me. My beardie refused to touch them.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
