I would guess that there is no particular time frame to have a shed, even the first one. But, since they grow so quickly, their first shed will also come very quickly after hatching. As babies, they almost seem to constantly be shedding.
Give them time, I promise they will. You can always offer a bath too, on a daily basis, to help loosen that old skin.
Just make sure to totally supervise each bath !
Hope this helps out !
Janie.
Babies will typically shed twice by the time they are 6 weeks old. The first shed is really going to depend on their growth rate. Keep them well fed and they'll get there.
And be very careful not to have too deep of water if bathing the babies.
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
