What type of paint is safe to use on glass tank?

I want to paint a background of a 55 gallon tank, I just want to make sure the paint is safe for the beardie.

if you paint the outside you can use just about any paint that you want. The issue you are going to have is that it is very hard to find a good paint to stick to glass. On that note, you do not want to use any paint on the inside at all. It will not be hard to scratch off and make little flakes for the beardie to eat. Your best bet is to either buy a background from a pet store, or go to a sign company and have one custom made for you.

If you do insist on painting make sure that you paint the outside only and try the Aura paint line by Benjamin Moore

You could always paint it on canvas and then mount it on the outside right against the class just like it was a stick on background.

I think i'm going to just paint on fabric, I don't want to take the chnce of him ingesting any paint

Will the smell bother the beardie? oce it's on could I ever take it off with something, or is it permanent?

I think once it is dry there shouldn't be a smell. But like mentioned above, the beardie may scratch off your art work. Putting it on the outside of the tank would keep it looking nice longer. My daughter painted a background for Calypso on a grass mat (used for the beach) and we hung it up on the outside of the tank as a background.
