Got crickets, meal worms, & collard greens. They love the meal worms. Can you coat the meal worms in calcium powder? Can you give them veggies that were frozen, like peas or string beans, or carrots?

Hey, how old are your beardies? Mealworms arent good for them, they have a hard outter shell that beardies cant digest. Crickets are good and so are collards. If your beardie is over 15" they can have superworms. There are lots of good feeders out there, but for babies you want to stick with crickets, small dubia roaches, repti worms, small hornworms are good and butter and silk worms. For babies all prey should be no bigger than distance between their eyes. All feeders should be dusted once a day, one feeding per day with calcium and 2x a week with vitamins. :) good luck and lmk if you have any questions.

How old is your beardie?.
Younger ones should have more insects than veggies for the first part of their life, but introducing them to veggies is good to get them used to them. Don't feed anything bigger than the space between the eye for safety so they don't get impaction :) . I wouldn't feed mealworms if your beardie is under 16 inches, there is too much of a risk of impaction, but if you have mini mealies to could feed them if your beardie is 14 inches or over.

I would reccomend wax worms, small silkworms or small superworms. Wax worms are fatty so don't feed too many.
Yes you can dust your mealies with your calcium powder.

You're proabaly better off feeding fresh vegatables and fruit. Frozen peas and that aren't very high in nutrition, you can choose to dust his veggies of fruit if you want. Don't feed lettuce, but if you want a informal look on fruit and veggies use this

NOO they know NOTHING. I specifically go in there and act like i want to buy a beardie and know nothing about them so that they will give me advice. I cringe at things ive heard come out of their mouths. For instance, ive been told;
House minimum 2 beardies together at all times.
use calci sand/repti bark mixture as substrate
They only eat every 3-4 days, just lettuce is good or pellets (WHAT?)
i told one guy i had a 40g breeder tank and needed the correct lighting, he tried to sell me a aquarium hood with the double holder (the ones that hold 2 of the 4" or so tube lights for lightinng fishtanks) with a 25watt bulb meant for lighting a fishtank and a 25 watt blacklight bulb(neither of which put out much, if anyyy heat) , never told me they need uvb or a basking spot
keep the tank around 70
Thermometers are unnecessary
Ive still never had anyone mention calcium or vitamin powder
the reptile manager told me he has 4 beardies, 3 boys 1 girl at home and they all live together in a 20 gallon tank
and last time i went in there there was a dead little baby thats eyeballs were gone from it being in there so long and noone even knew

Crrrrraaaazzzzzzzyyyyyyy, right? lol

OMG what is wrong with these people? It's just like wal-mart, the only qualifications must be breathing. lol But seriously how can they let these people work there. I went to petco and the guy told me he had 2 beardies and I told him I just got 2 babies but he didn't say not to feed them meal worms. How long do meal worms live in fridge? I just bought 500 of them today. Oh by the way sorry to all you Wal-Mart workers.

HEY! i work at walmart!

heheh just kidding :) i dont even think breathing is a qualification, seems like most of them are lacking oxygen to the brain.

Im not sure about the meal worms. Id get rid of them all together. Do you have fish? I made the same mistake and ended up feeding them to my oscars. Birds love them too, and they are much better for them. Haha. Its just not worth taking the chance.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
