What kind of cage do you use for your crickets?

I want to order crickets online since my BD has a big appetite. I am wondering where I will keep 500-1000 crickets at a time??? What do you use?

Hi!

Plastic Rubbermaid tubs are great for keeping large numbers of crickets. The only problem with tubs is ventilation; humidity kills crickets (and makes them smell worse :shock: ).

I cut out most of the top of the tub and duct taped it in with screen. (I tried super glue but the inside edge of the tub was too uneven.)

I tried hot glue, but the lid of the tub I used was uneven and it didn't work. :| Might work on another bin though.

I have 4 Critter keepers for my crickets. I can keep about 1000 crickets between the very large sized ones.

I like the large critter keepers because they are too tall for crickets to get out and they have a well ventilated cover with a hatch you can open to put in food. I use 4 of them because I can put crickets from one to another while I clean them. They are small so they are easy to clean. I clean my bins every other day, so no smell and easy to care for.

I was afraid if I used a big bin with screen taped in, that my cats would open that up to easy.
