They are pretty fatty, butterworms are a bit better but should only be given occasionally, here is a nutrition website :

I did this when my guy was little. He loves the waxworms so I'd lure into my hand with one, then give him another after I picked him up. If he was a bit freaked when I put him back down I'd toss a worm in with him so he'd "forget" about the stress. Worked just fine but don't epect this to magically make a beardie love handling, that takes time.
