Waving is not actually indicative of the sex of a dragon ^_^
It is only one of submission, and as adults it is usually females that submit but just like every thing in the dragon world, nothing is set in stone, females and males blackbeard, ive seen females stomp and bob, and ive seen boys wave.
Miso was a waver and at the moment we think Miso is a boy, but we are waiting for those buldges to show up a little more.

Very True - Kazi used to wave all the time, especially when he caught sight of Abu. Then at about 6 months he became a compulsive head-bobber.

Abu, who is female, has head-bobbed once, at a glass vase and has neve arm-waved during the year we have owned her. She has blackbearded only once when she had a leash on.

So true. Bowser is female and has never waved around us - however, she has blackbearded me and even head bobbed at my sister's boyfriend once.

Budo is most definitely not a wave-er! He head-bobs (the opposite of waving; a sign of dominance) at everything that moves. But I have seen waving videos on the internet, and it is adoreable!!

My little guy (8months) used to wave alot when I first got him, it is truely amazing. I've had no head bobs yet, he's in fact a male but then again he's my only dragon. One day I had him in the bath and he decided to wave at me I felt so bad, it was like he was saying "Ok I give, take me out lets be friends!" Poor guy he's not too happy with baths.

We have a female beardie (Jasmine), who is about 8 months old. I had never seen her wave until today. We brought home an 8 month old male beardie yesterday (Big Al or Aladdin) and today I put Al's quarantine cage just within eyesight of Jasmine's and suddenly she started to wave. At first I thought she was waving at her reflection, but then I looked over at Al and he was waving away too. I think they were trying to tell each other, "I come in peace"! It was so cute though, I couldn't stop laughing. :laughing6:

Hi, I'm new to the site but I've been hovering around for about a month. I just wanted to add to this. I'm almost positive my beardie is a boy. At least I hope so since his name is Denzel Washington. I can definitely say I think arm waving is an indication of submission more than an indication of sex. My silly guy waves all the time, but only at his crickets. I think he thinks he's psyching them out. Like "Oh hey guys...it's cool, we can coexist" and then ....BAM!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
