So now the question is: do you speak in a dialect that heavy or use those colloquialisms frequently? Curious minds want to know!
Not really, though my accent a lot seem to think is very "northern" (I beg to differ with them lol - though I have had problems in the USA trying to order a coke quite a few times...I get a quzzical expression then the question "cork???" ).
It tends to get thicker if I am with my dad...and even thicker with my grandad as his dialect is actually a lot stronger than even the guy reading the poem ( ee wer a pitmon, tha' see!) - as Buggsy said, the older blokes (working class at least) speak like that but it has been filtered a little for the last couple of generations at least.
If you listen to some of the other poems on that site, some are pretty funny "working class" tales. Funny to me at least as I relate (and understand wht he's saying - couple of favourites are "Bedtime" & "Goo'int Baths")
