Vitamins for Beardie

I dust the crickets 2-3x's each week and occasionally in his veggies. Is it necessary to give him vitamins too if he's a good veggie eater? I'm not sure of his age- was told that he was 6 months when we got him so that'll make him 8-9 months old. He's eating about 20-25 large crickets, which is smaller than the space between his eyes and will pretty much finish all the veggie that I leave in the bowl, twice a day.

Hi, for a 8 to 9 mo old, you should actually be dusting feeders with calcium 5 days a wk but only 1 feeding a day and then with vitamins the other 2 days a wk but again only 1 feeding a day. That's great that he has such a good appetite. When you use vitamins, it does help to make sure they get everything they need.

Are Rep-Cal juvenile bearded dragon food ok for their diet? They're colored pellets. I feed him some in addition to crickets and veggies.

Yeah, they're ok if he likes them, make sure they are nice and moist though, can soak them in water or even fruit juice.

Thank you so much for the info. The first time I gave him some today, I did not soaked them but he ate them. Guy at the store said I can feed it as is or leave it with the veggie, nothing about soaking. Hope I did not harm him with the 1st feeding.

You're welcome. The pellets are very hard that's why it's recommended to soften them up and soaking them also helps with hydration.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
