After you've had your beardie for a few weeks and he/she has had time to settle in, it's recommended to have an exam and fecal preformed. Just like you would do with any other pet to make sure everything appears to be okay. It's common for them to carry parasites so it's highly recommended to have a fecal preformed 1-2x a year.

I agree. It's good to have a wellness visit once or twice per year just to get a baseline so it's easier to identify a problem if something crops up. It's also good to build a relationship with an experienced reptile vet before a problem arises. Nail trims you can do on your own as needed. Just use some nail clippers and nip the very sharp tip at the end of the nails as needed. Fecal tests and weight checks are important. You can also use a kitchen scale to keep track of weight on a regular basis.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
