UVB EXPERT NEEDED

I have a uvb reader and I'm ot sure if my levels are to high. What levels should they be! On my typical areas its 100-200. And with my specialty bulbs they are almost 500. What would be a saudi desert! Is this to high?

Take a look at this page: http://www.uvguide.co.uk/uvinnature.htm

It's worth reading the whole site if you want to learn more about UV and your dragon, though without a spectroradiometer you won't be able to figure out if your lights are giving out correct or harmful wavelengths, or be able to replicate some of the tests they do.

I agree with vampy. :)
If those UVB emissions aren't the correct wavelength, it makes absolutely no difference how strong they are. Incorrect wavelengths won't do your dragons any good (and will probably actually be damaging).

ya so between 290 390 at levels up to 500 should be perfect for mid noon simulation. which the mercury lights seem to mimic at 12 inch perfectly. get to vlosr they are to high then???

Again, what you are measuring is the strength of the UVB emissions. :) The important part for a dragon's survival is wavelength.
If you're bent on getting the strongest possible, dragon-safe wavelengths, I would suggest going with the Arcadia D3+ 12% tube. Make sure to get the HO t5 bulb because it is stronger than the NO t8 bulb.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
