From knowledge can sprout interest and love.
See Patchouli that's just how different people can be  for me it's interest then knowledge and the love of creatures is a given.

I guess by knowledge, I meant knowledge that these creatures even exist. Some can't have an interest without the knowledge of existence, but yeah I like the way you say it better. Anyways, cheers!

Did you guys stop and look at any of the other videos he has?

He seems to have nothing but deformities. They all look to be well taken care of.

Only way to know how they are kept is to go there and see.

It's just a guess but I would think that they will be well taken care of.

Ever been to a zoo? What about the shop you get supplies or your pets from?

Tapping on the glass is a common thing that all kids and a lot of adults do without thinking. Hell, I still find myself reaching out to touch the glass if they are laying against it sometimes. I just want to touch and play with them all. I am constantly reminding the children not to do it. It's natural for us to reach out and touch something. Just as natural as it is for your beardie to lick at things.

That said, he is in California and they have very strict animal rights. So if he is not providing the right care he won't be open long.

Disclaimer: I don't care what any of you think about me. This is my opinion, and nothing anyone says will change that. That said, I love animals, always have and always will. To me, improper care and abuse is unacceptable, however no animal will be offended by the label of "freak" ("freakshow" is most likely just a way to grab people's attention... a publicity thing). I also understand that being on display like that can possibly cause stress issues, however there are many owners who do much worse things and I don't really think THIS particular situation is one that should get such a dramatic response when there are so many other wrongs going on.

Barb posting photographs and videos of Z&W on here for those of us that are insterested to see how she has been able to make them progress is not even remotely similar to this animal being on display in a freak show for glaring eyes and tapping fingers to ridicule all day.

First off... yes it is. It's not the exact same, and I even said that, but there are certainly similarities. IE, they're both extremely rare and I guess some would label them as "freaks" of nature, and as such they get much more attention from the public than any normal BD. EXAMPLE: Z&W are on the front page of the site full time, AND they were on Animal Planet. To say they're not on display (regardless of the label on them, be it freak or miracle) is just denial. The key difference is where the audience is viewing from.

Second, I highly doubt that they'll be on display for their entire waking lives. I would imagine this particular display isn't like "Lights are on, beardie is awake, so we're open!" type of deal. Which is different than having little kids poking at you all the time all hours of the day because they probably don't have hours of operation at a home. Also (and I haven't seen the video since I'm at work) we can't even say that this will be that kind of display where hundreds of tiny little children will be running up banging on the glass. I'd bet once the publicity dies down it'll be much easier on them.

Finally, your response seems to imply that everyone is there gawking at this animal totally disgusted and repulsed by its existence and as such they ridicule it. I'd bet that more often than not people are like "Whoah cool!, rather than "Ew gross... that's disgusting!".

Actually he has a video/story about a man and child that both fainted at the sight of the 8 legged pig he has. LOL

The difference with Z&W is they're captured on video, little stress to that and then showed to the so called audience via the posts here and other web sites. It doesn't stress them and were all interested in their progress. I consider them (Z&W) a miracle not a freak. Especially since they weren't meant to live more than a few weeks.

And I hope these new little ones gets treated with respect and live to a ripe old age. Cos they too have the potential to be miracles like Z&W

Hey! Could everyone stop already?

I'd really like the OP to come back...it's not right that he/she posted only to get bashed on stuff no one knows for sure we are all making assumptions. Please have a little curtisy and allow them to post again. This is why the world doesn't hear of all of them people are afraid of being bashed. I know I went through it too. Ease up people. However with freakshow he will not suffer from your bashing only we will because he/she isn't going to share them with us.

Trogdorpheus, Zak-n-Wheezie are not on display I only share them with you. They are not even located on my website other than headline pic...no articles nothing. I chose and still choose to share them here. Because it is less stressful for them this way....yet I can still share their amazingness with those who care. There little debut on Animal Planet was a one time thing won't ever happen again...they were made out to be freaks and they were not looked at for the amazing creature they are only that they are different. I also didn't seek out Animal Planet they seeked me out. The key difference you speak of makes all the difference in the world. Hmmm in a fish bowl with eyes staring at them all the time for them to see or pic's on the internet???? Please don't drag me and my boys into this I've had my share of bashing thank-you!
BTW...there are just as many people in the world that go "Ew gross" that think they are amazing and are astonished.

All I was saying is that there's a similarity between you sharing your boys with us, and with this other guy sharing (on a dramatically larger scale with flaws I'm sure) his 2 headed dragon with the people who go to his show. I understand there's many differences and have acknowledged them.

My only intention originally is that we shouldn't flame this guy for putting on this show as long as he's taking care of his animals... then someone posted a response to something I said and I kinda got caught up in the moment... Ok that's a bit of an understatement but you get the idea. I'm all done now.

As for the "ew gross" comment you made at the end Barb, my only thought is that people who are going to go to something like this show are more than likely the kind who are fascinated by it rather than disgusted. That's why they're going in the first place.

No problem Matt!

Sorry you took offense to my friend Brian's statements though. :( But he is my friend an always has me and the boys back here and on other forums...for this I thank him. Brian an I have had our differences in the past maybe even bumped heads, but we have moved beyond that. If you were to read his post as like more of a debate then possible it wouldn't feel so attacking/harsh. I know he's a type A at times, but I gotta love em! :D He's got a way of getting me thinking about things that incourages me to learn more. :)

BTW...the ew gross comments are rather entertaining too. It actually makes for some good laughs and breaks the monotony of answering the same questions over and over again.

Now I must try to find freakshow so I can learn more about his babies. :D

Patchouli would I be wrong in assuming that you know Freakshow and his beardies?

Okay guys. Chillax! Is there a place to go to view? I live 5 minutes away from Venice beach and have been on this board long enough to determine the level if care given. JMO however... If I spent 5 grand on an animal, especially one of this nature I'd be damn sure I knew what I was doing. I imagine the same from the OP. I am glad that he is willing to show the "freaky" side of nature. Not everything is rainbows and sunshine. Let's go back to that age old rule.... If you haven't anything nice to say, then say nothing at all. I too would like to hear from the OP and learn more.

Showing off odd and beautiful animals is not.

The link that showed the beardie eating another had NOTHING to do with this discussion at hand and is also breaking site policy. Shocking videos are not allowed so link was removed. It's everyone's responsibility to know what the site policies are which everyone agreed to abide to when they joined the forum.

No, like I told Spyder (AKA Brian), I do not know this person, I just don't think people should make general judgements about things until all the facts are known. For all we know these guys will be in an enclosure behind some glass out of reach of tapping fingers and such. Then again, it could be the opposite. Personally, I don't think the label "freak" is bad at all. I actually have a thing for the unusual. Plants, animals, and people alike. Perhaps that's why I have a hard time relating to our "American Idol" and "Big Brother" society. Bring on the freaks says I, shoot, I already keep a few myself (I may even be one).

Hey everyone! Holy Moly! I didn't realize I would get such a response. First off, let me reassure everyone that we are not a Freakshow like you've seen in movies or when you were a kid at the carnival. Our show/museum is designed to bring Kids of All Ages into a space of Wonder and Amazement......a place where All things are possible and "normal" means nothing. I personally search the World over looking for Living Miracles and provide them with the ultimate care and love. Those that are healthy and not bothered by the attention are shown in a safe environment behind two layers of glass. Those that are not are cared for by my family at home. We have 14 animals with Two Heads that are Alive. One headed animals actually look weird to me now :) We have Two-Headed Snakes, Two-Headed Turtles and Two-Headed Bearded Dragons. Pancho and Lefty are not at the Freakshow yet. They are at home and will not be taken to the Freakshow until they are much bigger and comfortable. They are so precious to me because of their extreme rarity and beauty. They are not fighting and they are eating well. They are still adjusting to their new home, but are becoming more and more comfortable with me. I am happy to say that I believe chances are very good that they will live a long, healthy life. I will be doing all I can to ensure it! Check out this article that AOL did on them this morning......you can see their photos and read more about the Freakshow , how I found them, etc.

Barbara, I hope to stay in touch so you can share any knowledge that you have learned through caring for Zak and Wheezie.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
