The first time I saw Pippin beard

Pippin has only bearded a few times in her short life but the first time I saw her beard was rather unexpected. My mom, Pippin, three dogs, the cat and I were all in the car driving to Texas (we were moving there). Pippin was happily snuggled in my lap or on the dashboard, I can't remember extactaly where. Anyway, my mom has this pair of thick, dark sunglasses on. Pippin had never seen anyone with sunglasses before. My mom comments on how sweet and well behaved Pippin is and reaches over to pet her. Pippin puffs out her beard, and lungs off the dashboard at my mom. My mom screamed and pulled the car over to the side of the road and to this day swears she thought she was going to have a wreck. I eventually managed to grab Pippin and calm her down but my mom was afraid to touch Pippin for weeks. I really think Pippin thought she was protecting me.
