I was wondering, is it safe to give new dragons kids pedialyte to rehydrate them? I want keep my dragon has heathy as i can when I get him, and he is a juvenile, like 4.5 to 5 inches. thanks.

I live pretty far out in the country, so I have a data allowance, it makes it hard to post pictures without draining our allowance for the month, but I'll see what I can do. I have lots of good ones. I might venture to guess he might be a little over 150 when he grows up. I can't wait for home to get big, I love big lizards! I love those bio books

You'll have to keep a chart & let us know monthly how he's growing. You'll probably find he'll be more like 300-400g at 1 year old. My dragons range from 17" (Didi) who weighs 450g to Rubio 22" who weights 770g. Leo is 18 1/2" long and weighs 525g; Gabriel is 18 1/2" long and weighs 500g; Lonzo is 20" long with 5" amputated off his tail due to tail rot, this was when we first got him and he weighs about 580g; Puff is 18 1/2" long and weighs 570g. They're all adults, Gabriel is the youngest at 3 1/2 yrs old, then Leo and Didi are 6 or 7 yrs old; Rubio is 5 1/2 yrs old, Puff is 6 or 7 yrs old and Lonzo is 11 years old.

So there's a variety of lengths & weights for my adults.

I know, he's just huge & was tiny as a baby, it's funny how some grow so big & some not. He's doing a bit better. I'm still waiting for the rest of the biopsy to see what fungus he has. He's been a sick beardie for about 6 weeks so far, I'm hoping I've found a way to cure him. I got him at 3 mo old, he was only 24 g and he's been really well all this time, he's now 5 1/2 yrs old. I should have an answer by the end of the week. Meanwhile I'm giving him some colloidial silver med, plus Betadine and anti-fungal cream. He seems to be already a bit more alert. I'll keep you posted.

Awww, thanks a lot, he's my big baby, at least that's what I've always called him. I found some pics of him when he was little, here's my favourite, my athlete: I think he was 4 months old here, not quite sure.

This is him now, at 5 1/2 yrs old:

But it's rare that a dragon gets as big as Rubio, so you just keep doing what you're doing & Ares will keep growing!

Oh my gosh! That little bugger is eating me out of house and home! My wallet is screaming with pain! :angry5: :angry5: :banghead: HOW do you guys afford this?! I am feeding at least three times a day, and I have feed him twice today already. I put him in the cricket tank, and he cleaned up about 50!!! This is not good. I'm feeding crickets, worms, salad. HOW CAN HE STILL BE HUNGRY?! HELP PLEASE! Any words from the wise?

Haha yeah they'll eat like crazy when they're in a growth spurt. Best way I found to lower the cost is to set up a cricket bin (I used an old 20gal tank with a mesh top) and order them online 1,000 at a time. That should last a month or so.

Babies sure are bottomless pits. Are you ordering bugs online?

Pepper slowed down a lot when he hit 8 or 9 months (16") but before that he would eat like the end of the world.

Yes. I'm having to order 500 every two weeks or so. It's gonna be less time, since I just plunk him in the cricket tank and let him eat for 7 minutes. That, and he gets around 30 reptiworms twice a day. It wasn't cost effective to get them from the pet store. I would get roaches and set up a breeding colony, but my mom would rather die then have roaches in the house. Oh, so I toured a college the other day, and the bio professor said I can keep Ares in the bio building! Yay! That was a major concern for my parents. Now I just have to convince them to let me get a corn snake, and convince the bio professor to let me keep it there too... :? Wish me luck with that! He is already 29.5 cm. 6 months or so. He is too small, so I am just biting the bullet, and cringing while 14.45 goes down his gullet.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
