Hi everyone!

So Deb was amazing today and came over and helped me pick out the new baby for the family. Except he isn't so much of a baby. And he may also may not be a he. He's from the same clutch as Baron was from, so his birthday is March 10th! And holy moly what a healthy juvie.

Even though he is a bit small at 12 inches, he can eat. Let me tell you, he can eat. Deb got pictures of him eating when I first gave him food 5 minutes after him being in the tank. 2 bowls of roaches later and a bowl and a half of baby bok choi and he seemed content. SO. PICTURES. I only got 3 before my camera died. :(

The last two are kind of crappy...But the camera was making angry red flashes at me and I was trying to get some.

Thanks Liz.

Today was a lot of 'things to be thankful for'. Little reminders through the day, especially after the emotional delving I went into yesterday(beware, emotional delving below?).

I am incredibly lucky to have all my pets. Benjamin, though annoying at times, is the perfect embodiment of a cat, especially how healthy he is. While Missy has her problems, without her I wouldn't have Benny, and she's got the best cat cuddles(and cat sense) I've known. Arya is just a big crunch hog, but she gives me hope for one day owning a hog that will be friendly and happy-and I'm just happy to provide her with a life she wouldn't have otherwise.

Gibson taught me dedication and persistence, I used to train in Agility with him, and do 4H with him as well. I had him for a year, and we places 1st in a local agility 'competition'. There was no prize, but the prize was being the youngest in the field and doing so well. That means so much to me, even today. It showed me in years when I was told I couldn't or wouldn't because I wasn't good enough, that if I put my mind to something I was good enough. And that means a lot.

And I am incredibly lucky to have Thresh, who has no problems...eats her bugs and greens(out of a bowl!), basks, cuddles, is always so calm and happy and ended up so well adjusted with us.

I'm also lucky for everyone on this forum, and having found it. You've all been with me through some of the toughest times I've had this year and I couldn't be more grateful for the endless friendship and support.

And as many problems I have with my family, I'm lucky for them too. My parents, despite everything, have been great since I moved to Vancouver and have supported me a lot. Even with my crazy talk of selling bugs and wanting to breed one day and becoming more involved in the pet supply/food industry.

That was very well said and I know what you mean about the support on this community, it is just awesome, has gotten me through a lot of bad spots, too.

Thanks everyone. :) Reptiworms have been shipped, and I got my Water Crystals today! I don't know what the heck was up with the tracking info, as in the Canada Post website it doesn't pull anything up, but here it is! Going to expand some now to keep in a container for the little roaches.

very well put. <3 I am so happy thresh was able to come into your life and that she is healthy and gives you no trouble at all, that she eats her greens and that she is growing like a lil sprout, and most of all that she loves you very much. heck, im jealous of how much she likes you! haha. She took to you instantly and that makes me feel so glad, knowing she trusts you as much as you trust her, such an important thing no matter the species.

all your animals sound just wonderful, and i have complete confidence that you provide them with such excellent care and that they're very, very well taken care of.

ps. i got your letter last week, been busy helping my sister move all week, but i just got stamps this afternoon, so i will send my reply off tomorrow morning!

Thank you! I'm glad you got my letter, and I'm so excited for your reply.

I try my hardest to provide them with the best. I think I'll be getting a small raise at work soon(I hope), and I'm probably going up to 5 days per week. That means, in combo with the worms, I can put the cats on a raw diet. It's the best I can give them, and to feed them both it'll probably work out to be less then $2 a day. Even though that adds up(40-60 a month), it can prevent a lot of problems and vet visits in the future, and that's important.

Besides, Missy is overweight, and she just isn't losing it on the dry. Raw is much easier to control weight gain and loss, so I'm hoping that putting her on it will slim her down and increase her energy. I've been worried about her lack of weight change to be a thyroid problem, which is something I don't want from her. That and over weight cats are prone to diabetes, which is a whole other ball park.

5 days a week & a possible raise, plus the worms are on the way? Great!

I know Thresh loves you, she's such a sweet dragon and what brilliant colours she's getting with every shed!

It will be good if Missy loses weight, might help with the bladder problem. And Benjie is a beautiful cat, glad he's keeping out of Thresh's way!

Love the new bookstand, it sure is big, will hold a lot of stuff & boy it fits as if it belongs there! I just love storage!

I love storage too! We just don't have enough, ever! Thanks for the kind words. :)

It has started! I don't remember if I mentioned, but when I first started working at my job, I worked 18 days in a row(only had one day off in this), many of the shifts were 3-4 hours, so I never got over time for it as it never went over 40 hours a week, but it was because my co-worker kept getting really sick(combination of being 'over worked' and school, I think).

So he started school, and kept 4 days a week...Guess who called in sick because of a migraine today?(the reason he first started calling in sick, in combination with a few other things?)

Of course I took it, it's a 6 hour shift and I could use the cash, but it does make me roll my eyes.

The last thing I need is for him to be sick on the weekend, too. Jen(my manager) is out of town, and it's just me and my coworker to run the store for 3 days. If he's sick, that leaves me.

I have no idea. He's been around pretty much since the store opened, which like great A+ but this whole sick not coming in thing is a bit silly.

I seriously think he shouldn't be in school and working so much at the same time. Because clearly it isn't working out. And next semester he's with a massive course load so I think he'll be leaving soon any ways.

It's definitely really hard to keep up work and hours. I had to cut myself down 23 hours a week. It's a real heavy workload.

I think he's a nice person, but like me, if it gets to much he gets sick so he can't work, you know? I had to quit working and have my parents help me more when I was in school because I couldn't do both without getting really ill.

Other people are built for it. I don't think he is.

It's hard on the body, it really is. Not only is there stress, but there's the lack of sleep, the physical and mental toll it takes on you. It sucks.

Agreed. Me working 4-5 days a week with my days off split up is hard enough on me. I couldn't add school in with it.

So my crystals. I expanded 4 tablespoons, and they made just over a gallon. I got over 2 cups worth, with 2/3rds going to Deb.

I'm just blown away. I think I'll sell some of it, because there is so much and while it never expires it was cheap(30 dollars for apparently 15 gallons worth, when finding a gallons worth around here(if I'm lucky) sells for 10+).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
