Tales of Nero~Nero the Sausage!

Hi all :wave: I've finally decided to share my Nero.After months of lurking :lurk: Nero is about 8 months old and 16 inches long and he is very colorful .I "saved" him from petsmart though i wish I could have gotten one from lllreptiles but they did not have any at the time and i was very impatient to get my beardie! Pics soon if i can find out how to post pics! Nero is a big adventurer and always wants to crawl around on the floor or outside.I'm thinking of taking him to arizona with us in august if my family lets me as they aren't as fond of him as i am :wink: .Nero is actually going through a shed right now and i can't wait till his colors come out! He's getting to be a big boy! :help:

Today i finally got tile in his cage.It was kind of a tough process,but we got it all done.We had also brought home carpet samples from home depot.Since there were empty spaces that the tile did not fill,we put the carpet samples there and they fit perfectly.We have to go get more to fill in the rest of the spaces.I know getto right,but it looked so perfect!And he liked to lay on it.Pics of new tile soon!

And a quick story.You all remember the chameleon right?well this morning my mom came into our room to ask where a cat was,then she left.She came back about 5 minutes later and said that grandpa looked in the cage and said he's dead.She almost gave me a heart attack until she said it was only the stupid chameleon .I was still all shakey after that.Later I came down and looked in Nero's viv and the chameleon had fallen over and i just had to laugh when my grandpa came over and said that we needed to bury him soon.The chameleon doesn't even look real :lol: !

The mammillaria grahmii is just so lovely. I adore dessert plants but Canada doesn't have alot of that habitat. (What with the winter snow and all) LOL! :lol: Sigh... to be somewhere warm...

For some reason I am just so attracted to desert plants for some reason.Thankfully I live in southern California so i can grow them and also let Nero have as much sun as possible :wink: .

My uncle actually came from Arizona so I do plan on visiting the dessert. I know I shouldn't complain, I really do love Canada. I'd be lying if I didn't say I perfer warmer climates. One day... I'll retire in about 40years! LOL! :lol:

When you do visit the desert, you will enjoy it guaranteed.It's where i grew up,so i was destined to love it !Although I don't visit foresty places like Canada much,I still love the forest in northern california.The redwoods are so beautiful,i wish to go again soon!

Snow was never one of my favorite things(or being hit with a snow ball).But the first time i visited the mountains it started to blizzard .Then we went again last year and there was snow but it was so hot and i slipped multiple times and my brother threw a snowball at me which was not fun.I guess i'm not a snow person but i understand how fun snowball fights are :wink: .Oh and i almost forgot ,when we were going to yosemite we drove up some mountain rode and it was about 30 degrees and all i had was a light sweater(we don't have very much sweaters because it is so hot where we live).then it started snowing and it was so fun.We went down a little trail and there was like a little winter wonderland with a frozen pond that was fun to slid on.My mom actually wanted to walk over some icy log but we told her she shouldn't because she'd probably fall in the icy river that was like screaming below her :roll: !She is very stubborn,i swear she really was going to do it!Sorry but I just love telling people my adventures :wink: !But that was just some trip we all almost died multiple times because we love adventures.I would love to tell more but there is just so much.I wonder what adventures i'll have with nero :lol:!

I just found out that Nero loves blueberries!His favorite veggies are mustard greens,squash,and carrots.His favorite fruits are blueberries and raspberries.I do make sure to change his salad up regularly though :wink: .I just can't wait till he eats more veggies instead of insects.We just ran out of 1000 crickets and 500 supers.I think he vacuumed them up in about two weeks :roll: .He is very expensive,but he is definitely worth it !

I found out that Nero loves to watch tv.I took him out today and he ran right off of me and right up to the tv.He loves it :lol: !He liked to watch the california condors fly or the bears running around (i was watching nat geo wild).Then he decided that he wanted to fall asleep on the tv box LOL.The tiring life of a beardie :roll: .Does anyone else's beardies like to watch tv :?:

I think Nero likes to take baths now.He used to hate them when i gave him one in a little tub,but this time i gave him one in the sink and he swam around like crazy.He did that for about 30 minutes.After that i took him outside and he got really light and beautiful compared to other times when he gets dark to soak up some sun.

By the way how much does a vet visit usually cost?Because i just want to get a checkup .
