switching from crickets to roaches

My beardie loves crickets but as soon as I gave him some dubias he would ignore the crickets lol. Has anyone had to happen to them?

Yes. Dragons' tastes change sometimes. My dragon ate a hornworm and refused to eat roaches for months afterwards. I didn't want to keep buying hornworms so I got him hooked on superworms, but he refused roaches for a long time even though he'd been perfectly fine with them until he had that one worm. He also stopped eating phoenix worms after I gave him a hornworm. And now he's back on roaches, but he only wants to eat the freshly molted ones (if I drop in a white one and a normal one at the same time, he will always go for the white one, and then ignore the normal one and climb back on his perch if I don't give him more white ones). I'm working on breaking him of that habit.

You either have to deal with it and switch to roaches, or starve him until he's willing to eat the crickets again, or if you don't want to switch to roaches, find another feeder you can tolerate and he will eat.

Well he does eat crickets I just have to throw a roach first then a cricket( 1 Dubia 1 cricket 1 Dubia etc.) I was just wondering if that was common

I broke mine of her meatetarianism by rewarding her when she eats 2 or 3 pieces of fruit with fresh molten dubias. I dont think it odd at all to use rotation as rewarding each time he eats a cricket.
