For about 3 mos. now, my one year old beardie makes strange movements in the tub. He will jerk his leg way up to his head and scratch it, then he takes his arm and jiggles it backwards. It is very unusual to me and i have no idea why he does this? my husband says he is probably trying to get the water off of him or feels it on himself? has anyone experiences this behavior? He does it about 3 times in a matter of 5 minutes.

I think it is necessary. It helps with shedding, it hydrates them, and it also helps them have regular bowel movements.

I had a dragon who did the same thing when ever there was water on her head/face. I suppose it either tickles or is irritating.

hi hun , regarding bathing... i never put water in my vivs , its a prefered choice but for me but i feel it just harbers germs . all my beardies are in the bath for about 20 mins every two days. only one of my 5 dont like it and she goes in a huff , and all of them let me know when there ready so come out . one of my 6 month olds swims like a fish and she goes the most amazing colours when in the bath. for me its works x

Definitely normal, I believe :) Both of my beardie's do this when they're in their bath and they're shedding!
Both love their bath's. Occasionally they'll stick their head right in and drink for a few seconds. And in fact, Stewie only goes poo in his bath and won't go in his tank!

First of all, I LOVE the name Stewie - is that from the show "Family Guy"? :) Also, yea, its funny, she just started doing this behavior about 3 mos. ago, I really wonder what she is doing. her arms fling back as tight as she can get them to her body and jiggles them, then her back leg comes completely to the side and front of her body and she scratches her head. It is very amusing. My Tomek will ONLY poop in the water as well. She use to go in her cage, now she can go a week without pooping in her cage, BUT if I put her in water. WHAMO ! she goes :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
