Stitch and Sydney- New pics pg 22!!

I rescued a beardie yesterday, and am looking for a little support group overall for the most part, and any advice you have to give... and hopefully to watch this little one progress from pitaful to fat and sassy over the next months!!! For some quick background info...I'm a long time lurker of several bearded dragon forums over the past 7 years, and I've had 2 beardies over the past 6.5 years, but have always been a 1 beardie household (until today). My first I had for 5 years, before he passed from a long term illness, and then I've had a new baby for just over a year.
This one ended up with me yesterday. I'm not entirely sure of all the details, but he ended up with a wildlife rehabber about 3 weeks ago, who has to go through major surgery and who has been trying to get a better home for him since then. He was supposedly bitten by another bearded dragon on the tail base before going to the rehabber, but in my opinion it looks more like a dog bite. He's skinny, and the saddest part is apparently he put on "good weight" over the past 3 weeks - his little hip bones are all sticking out :( Here is a first picture, but I"m not sure how well the skinniness will come through

At the vet's office we did a full workup - got that scab off and the skin and area cleaned up, bloodwork, xrays, took a biopsy of the wound to make sure the yellow coloration around it isn't yellow fungus , and got him started on antibiotics and pain meds. He never would poo at the office, so no sample to test there (stinker). Here is a pic afterwards, in the 2nd bath of the day

Things look better at that point, and he's lightened up a little bit at least.
I've got lights, etc on order for him, but for now, my tortoise was nice enough to share her UVB light , and we'll shift some lights around to get things up to temp, and then hopefully my next week all my stuff will be in and he'll be set up.
As I mentioned earlier support and advice are welcomed! Luckily my significant other, Matt, loves the beardies too, but doesn't quite understand :) I know many of you guys will !!! I've already become alarmingly attached to this dude, and have named him Stitch. This is the fastest I've named something in a long time, so hopefully that's not a jinx, but will give him something to aspire too. Figured the name worked...he's a rescue, but still a bit fiesty, and maybe he'll aspire to some mischievousness over time :D
When I got him home tonight and put him in the 3rd bath of the day (where i finally got poo :blob5: ) he lightened up the most I'd seen him, so I'm hoping he knows that he's HOME... and that's my anthropomorphizing for the day... (But check out the pics?? What do yall think ?????)
7544944_photobucket_18790_.jpg

and then snuggling in a towel - he's not sure quite what to make of this I think, but is still snuggled in the towel propped on my leg as I type....

I'll have questions and concerns soon I'm sure, but I wanted to introduce Stitch !!

HAPPY ADOPTION DAY STITCH !!!!

Stitch was rescued a year ago yesterday and came home with me for the first time a year ago today. He was a sad, skinny, wounded dragon at that time and seemed nervous but thankful. He adjusted pretty fast and started feeling better and eating more and more and more :) His wounds healed, medications were taken, and snuggles abounded. He was always feisty and ready to explore and "dominate" his surroundings
Matt and I have enjoyed having him in our lives the past year and hope for many more!! Now on to the fun he had today...

Thanks Haley and Atrax !!

I have a few more cute pictures for everyone. It's nice weather here this weekend so we have the doors/ windows open. Stitch wanted OUT of the cage later in the afternoon so I decided to stick him on the cat window seat thing I have for sprinkles. Of course she immediately needed to be up there with him. Stitch stared at her for a while, but decided she could share his new viewing platform.

Stitch staring Sprinkles down (she was not concerned)

Looking handsome in the sunshine
photobucket-4746-1318726843018.jpg

I'm not sure, but I think Stitch was enjoying sharing some body heat (it was probably upper 60's outside at that point in time)... He was surprisingly accepting of Sprinkles laying almost on top of him
photobucket-3215-1318726884076.jpg

Sprinkles is partially laying her head on him now
photobucket-4716-1318726919728.jpg

awwwwww
photobucket-4905-1318726970294.jpg

Looking cute
photobucket-1889-1318727018959.jpg

I like scaly pillows !!
photobucket-3955-1318727061530.jpg

And then Stitch came out to nap on the couch with me tonight... and wedged himself between my legs as his place of choice to nap. It hurts when they wiggle scaly head and shoulders on your legs to wedge themselves in ! But i wanted the picture so I let him... lol

TONS of new pictures...
We are doing a cutest Halloween photo contest at work...So I decided to get crafty (which is always a bit scary when it involves me.. I have grand plans and ideas and LOVE going to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc... and then tend to have a failures in the makings of those plans...this endeavor turned out OK though).
So here are the results from my scaley photo shoots :)
I'll do Sydney's First.. since I will only enter one photo of each in the contest, I'll share the rest with yall !
A photographer I'm not, so be warned. I figured a backdrop would be good, but my dark backdrop didn't really work. But I loved this pic with her tongue sticking out so I'll share
photobucket-714-1319311721386.jpg

So I switched to a lighter backdrop which worked a bit better.
photobucket-3821-1319311758780.jpg

Sydney thought this was dumb and decided to run away up the couch...
photobucket-3703-1319311798709.jpg

her little leg is a blur from running away so fast
photobucket-4220-1319311833504.jpg

I persevered and she must have decided that if she cooperated and looked cute it would be over faster... She has a little wand now :)

Sydney: *sigh* (This is one of my favorites for the pictures and may be the one I submit)
photobucket-5100-1319312105682.jpg

RUN AWAY... but this time her hat stayed on (cute!)
photobucket-4519-1319312150433.jpg

Just a few more pictures...

photobucket-5001-1319312230676.jpg

photobucket-4528-1319312288525.jpg

ALL DONE
photobucket-3018-1319312383061.jpg

But she was so cute I took one more picture and it was one of favorites :)

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
