Yes, most vets will allow you to set up some kind of payment arrangement, especially if the situation needs immediate attention. Sending good thoughts to you and to Goldie!

Sending prayers your way, I'm also concerned about the dark place along the left side of her mouth. Is there any way you can contact the vet to see if they can take pmt arrng over a couple of months? Justs explain the problem, better you make contact to find out at this point. I'm not sure what else to say but babyfood might be a better way to get food into her. I've always given my beardies Carnivore care mixed up with babyfood butternut squash, the babyfood isn't very expensive, so try that to see. I'm sorry Goldie isn't doing well & I wish I knew what was wrong with her. Take care Lori & Bill, just know I"m praying for her daily.

In that last picture of just her head, there is black around her lips. Is that normal or a food residue or dirt? Is there anything odd going on inside of her mouth?

I think it has something to do with food she left inbetween her teeth and that lip. I've had to dig some out of the outside of her teeth pretty much every day this week.

I went to our vet yesterday. On their signboard, they advertised that accepted Care Credit. It is a plan where you can make payments. Something to think about. So sorry to hear that Goldie has taken a turn for the worse. :(

We had it before but had a problem with them and canceled the card.

Thanks Sandi and Deb. We made an appointment for this coming Friday. I will try to contact them next week (we just got home from multiple errands) as it's to late to contact them today. That was the only time we could get to Tucson to see the vet.

Still Praying, I know what it's like to have a sick animal & not be able to afford to take her to the vet, so I'll hops & pray that whatever is bothering her isn't as serious as you think & that you'll get into the vet & find out what's wrong. Good luck, keep us all posted.

Lori, I'm sorry that I haven't giving you my prayers. I only just saw this thread. I'm so sorry to hear that Goldie is having problems & isn't doing well. It's so awful to watch them go downhill. I wonder if bee pollen or brewer's yeast would help give her a boost? We'll have to see what Tracie thinks.

That's good that you got her a vet appointment. Hope you can get some answers and some treatment that will make her feel better and encourage her to eat more.

Thoughts and prayers continue...............

Thanks, Diane, I appreciate the concern and prayers. I forgot about the bee pollen. I hadn't heard about the brewers yeast for beardies. I would be interested in learning about that.

She's still with us but you can see in her eyes that she's not feeling well. I can't figure out what could be wrong. I'm wondering about the power sun we had on her, but it haven't caused problems for Deb's boys, and Rosie's is about 2 weeks newer (still to old) and she doesn't have any problems with it.

It's possible that the filaments in the bulb went bad. I had that happen with one of Sabrina's T-Rex's. Might be a good idea to unscrew it and take a look at it. Can't hurt anyway.

Tracie told me about the Brewer's yeast and it did make a difference in Sabrina for a while. The Brewer's yeast has a lot of the multiminerals in it. Perhaps she is lacking some vitamins which happens as they start to get older. Perhaps Tracie will add her opinion on it.

It's a good idea to check the power sun we had on Goldie, except for the fact that we threw it out a couple of weeks ago and we have a mostly unused reptisun 10 tube on her now. I have a fish tank fixture that it's in and I taped some foil underneath the bulb to be used to get the uvb going downward better toward her.

Hello Lori,

How is Goldie doing, any changes?
I hope she is feeling better. As Diane suggested, the brewer's yeast is very good & is rich in minerals & trace elements. The bee pollen can help a lot with immune system function.

How do her eyes look now, have they changed any? Does she act as if she is in distress?

Hi, Tracie

The look in her eyes says she's feeling bad, she's had that look since yesterday am when I tried to give her the carnivore care. It never increased her appetite since we started using it in June of 2011. After I gave her the carnivore care yesterday am, she was almost unresponsive. She acted like she didn't want any thing going down her throat. She was almost gagging, working her tongue so she could spit it out. She even had a black beard, not totally black but she never, ever had a black beard. When I put her in her tank this am, Bill went to check on her and saw a urate where she was sitting, it was totally yellow, it was a dark yellow, almost golden. Her urate yesterday wasn't yellow at all, it was white, maybe a dark white if that's possible. I'm beginning to wonder if her kidneys were failing last year when her appetite diminished.

Lori, I'd been following your posts on Goldie and I just don't know what to say.
I'm so sorry that she's not feeling well and not wanting to eat. All I can do is to offer healing prayers.

Thanks, Gina. She has gone downhill a lot in the last week. She seemed to be doing better on Wednesday and then Thursday but yesterday am she went so downhill, seemingly just because I gave her some fresh Carnivore care. I hate to say this, but it seems like she won't be around much longer. We love her dearly and Bill has been training her to be his service animal, helping him when his blood sugar drops and he can't think straight. There really isn't much we can do for her. She's a lot like Miss O was the couple of weeks before she died.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
