Small beardie help

Thanks, =D yeah he loves reptiworms. I can't wait to see what he looks like as an adult. Sometimes its just weird seeing these 4 month old beardies would are gigantic lol.

Yeah I've heard of a 5 month old at 17" and was like :shock:

I thought my guy was getting big.

I feel as long as they're eating their fill every day, and are generally active and healthy, I'd rather have the shrimpiest dragon in the world than have a gigantic monster who's unhealthy

Looks like a very happy chubby bunny of a beardie.

There tend to be times where Darwin will grow a full inch a week, and times when he won't grow any at all. If the beardie is healthy, he'll grow at his own pace. It's only when they're confined to smaller tanks or not fed enough when slow growth can be a concern.

I noticed in some of your pictures it looks like you're using a coil UVB? If so, watch your beardie's eyes. There have been reports a few years ago about the coil UVB hurting their eyes, but there has also been tests done recently to say that if it's put at a good distance away, I believe 10 inches or so, it shouldn't be a problem.

i dont use the uvb coil bulb anymore i use a 18 inch uvb light now and do you really think she looks healthy?

Yes she looks like she's nice and plump. An unhealthy beardie will appear to have no energy, show visible hip bones near the base of the tail, and probably would not be able to show such a nice color. I'd be happy with that beardie
