How long is your 40 gallon tank? When it comes to UV lighting actual dimensions are more important than the volume of your enclosure

ok a 24" T5 tube would be fine but because of the height of your viv I suggest you mount it above the top of the viv. You need a clearence of between 12 and 15" between the tube and your highest basking spot

The 40 gallon is temporary we’re just waiting for the uvb to to come in then she can move into the 120 gallon we have for her

Ok if you are going 120 (which I presume is 4ft long) then I would suggest you up your tube length to the 30" at least
