Shedding alot

Hi all,

My 2.5 yr old male seems to really be shedding alot lately. I have been feeding him superworms 1-2 times a week for a month or two to fatten him up some. Does this seem normal for an adult?

If he seems healthy otherwise, I wouldn't worry. Perhaps someone else might have more experience with this. I've always read that shedding is a good thing.

superworms are mainly hydration and shouldent fatten him up

at that age its weird to see a dragon shed more than once every few months not weeks ... even with a growth spurt thats strange i dont think id worry but definetly im curious about why its happening so fast

is your sweetsie doing full boy sheds or just certain areas like feet/mouth? man i hope Blue is in for many more sheds, she is just 1 year and 2 months, and kinda on the small side at 15 inches for her age. she is doing some foot and nose/mouth right now, but nothing full body in quite awhile. then AGAIN she brumated FULLY for 3 months at only 8 months old, so i wondered if that had anything to do with her being a but smaller than alot of other dragons. but hey, they keep growing the first couple years of their life! there is no magic number where they all just stop, each are different. so i would say it sounds like your beadie is healthy and getting the UVB he needs. a shed is never a bad sign that i am aware of :shock: ... i never really thought about it but i cant see where it would ever be a bad thing?
your beardie could be going through a adult growth spurt, that is definetly not unheard of at all! yay for healthy beardies!!! how big is your baby? (grown baby ... they are still our babies!!)

Thanks for the replies everyone! My dude is like 21 inches long and he has been shedding in spots such as beard, feet, top of head etc. im now gathering materials to build him a 4 x2x2 he is in a 55 gal now and he needs more space. I currently am using a mvb for his uvb and will be switching to reptisun 10.0 tube in the new viv. I will post pics as soon as i start it. Thanks again for everyones replies.
