I just recently got a CHE for night for my beardie as the temps drop below 65 degrees. Is it safe to let the CHE run all night or is that a big fire risk?
Yes , provided the CHE is controlled by either a simple switching thermostat like https://www.ironbarkpets.com.au/shop/digital-thermostat/?utm_source=Google%20Shopping&utm_campaign=shop&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=d2fed23f5a5dc1c24d456c4ab0033b4d%7Cadtribes%7C2797
( use these in all my tubs and vivs for all my skinks and dragons , I'm controlling 5W and 7W film type heatpads and I am sure these thermostats will be fine for a CHE too, simply place the temperature probe near the spot the beardie likes to sleep, simply set to warming and set the desired aim temperature (I'd suggest 24 degC for overnight) and let the CHE run 24/7 (the thermostat will simply turn off the CHE during the day when the basking light is on, can't simpler).
Or you can go upmarket and invest in a more expensive inline timer/thermostat combo to control the on/off schedule for the basking globe & the CHE and manage temperature control 24/7. These can be pricey to buy.
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
