safe caulk?

hey guys,
my dad is going to help me build the crossfire viv but he asked which caulk is safe and when I did a search there were no threads containing the answer. He wants to know latex or silicone?

I think both are ok, I used white silicone on my viv. I have heard that caulking with mold resistant chemicals can me harmful. I used non-mold resistant white silicone caulking.

Thanks! I remembered reading something about caulk in another post but when I did a search it didn't come up.

This is the kind that my aquariums budies us to reseal there aquariums with. just make sure you dont get silicone II that has the mold and other stuff in it. you could use it but it takes a long time to cure I want to say it takes like a month or so to cure to make it safe.
And make sure you are not useing it next to anything hot it could melt it<---- ( I think. I am not 100 percent sure on that on)
