Hi Holly,

Just wanted to offer my support and say hang in there!
I'm practically going through the same thing with Sakura. Worrying about her and my mum's health and work and everything else has been very stressful.
Rube is gonna be fine, you take incredible care of your beardies and love them so much. It shows in every picture you post, they are both spoiled so well :laughing6:
They are beautiful, healthy and they know how loved they are, that's how they can pull on your heartstrings so well.
I swear our babies all have some secret Beardie Bulletin Board and they are conspiring to all act out together!!

It's been about 6 weeks but Sakura is starting to show signs of acting herself again.
She also wouldn't come out of her hide without me enticing her and was turning up her nose at her favorite foods. I'm not sure if it's possible for you but Tracie had suggested to me that I take Sakura's hide out during the day so she has to come out and bask. That seemed to help quite a bit and maybe it'll work for Ruben too.

Just keep on being the incredible beardie slave you are and show Rube you're not going to stand for his lil temper tantrums.

The pictures are amazing, by the way. I can't believe how much they have grown and are still growing! Their colors are so vibrant and beautiful too. Miso looks absolutely amazing in that picture after her bath (is that an empty Xbox360 box next to her? :headbang: )

Sakura, Beth, and I will all be sending best wishes and hugs to you and your whole family (human and beardie)

Thank you for your support guys. Im just going through a rough patch at the moment and Rube doesnt help!

"Benebac" - Ive not been able to find much online in the UK diamac. I do have some critical care formula on hand. Would you suggest I give him a dose of that?

I know guys, I really cant believe how huge Rube is. I told you he is my monster!
Im going to the rescue centre in an hour or so to see if I can find something to tempt him.

Miso is a little ham for the camera.
I chose her out of the clutch because she seemed so confident and she has carried that on in her new home too. She never runs or flinches when I put my hands in the viv.
She has also learnt about prey now and usually gobbles up her butters. Sods law ofc says that yesterday she refused any worms and wouldnt take any this morning.
Babyfood all round today I think.
She's just over 8inches now, so with her tail nip Id say she would be around 9/9 and a half inches.

Hehe yes James thats an old 360 box I used to attempt to feed her crickets in, and now that she lolls in when Im cleaning out her viv.
I used to work part-time in a gamestore so my flat is packed full of consoles.

Wholehearted thank yous all round guys.
I wouldnt manage without this web site I swear.

Off I go to the shops for babyfood and worms!

The only UK probiotic I have ever been able to find is the Avipro formula. I see it in most pet stores and livefoods.co.uk. A little unsweetened soy yoghurt might also help if hes having a little tummy upset. :D

Have fun with the little ones!

Hi Holly, I answered your pm about the Benebac, I also suggested soy yogurt, Acidophilis or the Critical Care. Is Ruben doing any better today? We are all praying that your dad is doing better.

Hello guys,

I gave Rube a syringe of Crit Care yesterday MUCH to his displeasure. Oh its a probiotic? Thanks MissT. Im going to try the soy yogurt later today just to keep things moving.
Well Ruben finally ate last night. He had ignored his salad all day and black bearded me when I got him out, but then at about an hour before lights out I heard him scratching and scratching so I offered him a superworm and he gobbled up 8 in a row! I was thrilled to see him eat, and considering it was day two of not eating I presumed it was just out of hunger. I think it may indeed be just a bad mood he is in, but Im going to continue with Crit Care and try him on that yogurt.

Thank you all for your carming advice.

Adorably Miso did her first ever morning beard stretch. The teeny weeniness of the beard is the cutest thing Ive ever seen. I will try to catch it on camera next time.

My father is doing a little better now. Unfortunatly with chemotherapy and radiotherapy daily his health dips and peaks frequently, but it's not something I have got used to yet.
I appriciate all your good thoughts and prayers. We need them at the moment.

Holly

EDIT:
A few shots of the delightful Ruben this morning.

I'm so glad that Ruben ate his supers, I havn't tried Critical care myself, so I need to get some, but I wanted to ask, you mentioned you offered the worms an hour before lights out, did you keep the lights on for a total of 2 hours after, to aid in digestion?

That's answer to prayer regarding your Dad's improvement, will continue to pray for him.

I just love the pictures and all the comments about Ruben........... and he is just as handsome as ever, whether angry or not. Don't they just have different personality's and moods? How can we as slaves keep up?

How long is Ruben now? Stompy has been stuck at 14 inches for a while now (maybe 15 if he had his whole tail). I really want to get him some supers (they are on sale at mulberryfarms.com) but i guess he is still too small. Ive gotten myself into a money rut so all ive been able to afford is crickets! ( grrr those nasty things) I cant seem to remember what the age/size is for feeding supers.

Oh my! Holly what a grumpy boy you have. I always enjoy seeing his pictures. Look at how dark his beard is  Where do you get Critical Care? I might pick some of that up for Lexi just incase. We just think she dosnt like crickets. I really hope Ruben cheers up soon.

I'll keep praying for your dad to feel better I know when they go thru those treatments they have good and bad days. *hugs*

Based on my experience, at 15 inches, eating supers is not a problem. Redrock was 10 or 11 months and 15 inches long when we started feeding her supers. She never had a problem but she chewed them really well. We only gave her one at a time, though. Speedy and Zoom Zoom are the same. They chew really well, we give them one at a time. If you are worried about it, you could call or email them and ask them for smaller supers. I would be specific, tho as the first time I asked them for smaller supers, I got supers about the size of large phoenix worms. If you ask them for 1/2 size supers, that should be o.k. They last for a really long time, at least the ones we got from that company did.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
