Ruben Miso & Billy! RIP Ruben

Miso is so cute. Our girls flirt shamelessly with Rubio, too. Lonzo has his own room (my office) as he goes really crazy when he sees any of the girls, so outside time is on his own. Rubio's only 10 mo old, but like Billy and Ruben, enjoys his black bearding, bobbing and looking sexy for the girls (the girls vivs are in a row in the living room, Rubio's tank is behind the couch in the dining room, so only when he's out would he see the girls, and not if he's on the balcony. Sweetie, our oldes, she's 3 and is a shameless flirt, especially with Lonzo, used to drive him crazy. She little bobs with Rubio, he's more facinated with her than Issy or Angel (they're 10 mo and 18 mo). So I know what you mean about black beards, bobbing and going crazy. Ruben is just full of hormones, more so than Billy right now., Billy will catch up. Miso is just like Sweetie and sometimes Issy will do the same thing, glass dancing, waving and bobbing.

You have quite the crew, sounds like you're all having a great time. I'm glad Miso started to eat, she's such a beautiful girl. Ruben is quite the hunk and Billy is so colourful, I'm so glad you decided to get him. I'm sorry about the woodchips, hope his digestive system is working better now. You take such good care of your babies Aren't we great beardie slaves?

Thanks for sharing, I hope your dad is doing well? I really enjoyed all your graduation pictures. Keep us posted, I know your dad had a scan coming up. Give him our prayers and well wishes, please. (((((((HUGS to your family from our family)))))))

Yeah, thanks. Just when I thought it was safe to sip my morning tea and read this thread.. Miso has a strip tease song now....LMAO!! This really comes as no shock because Miso has always been confident and proud..so why shouldn't she strut her stuff?..LOL. It's "in" to be a "cougar" now a days..LOL..
I am deeply saddened by the loss of the SS NOM..time to make an SS NOM II.

Quick update, not much in the mood to type.

My fathers cancer has spread. Its now in his liver aswell, aparently there are 5 tumours there.
They havent set out a new treatment plan yet, but they suggested more intensive chemo.

I found out at work and had to continue on all day, came home not even to a hug from my other half. He doesnt know what to say or do.
My only comfort was that Billy fell asleep on me for the first time.

Oh Holly, I am so very sorry to hear about your Dad. I can't even imagine what you are feeling right now.

Don't be too hard on Mark. It is difficult to know what to do or say, because almost always it will be the wrong thing. When hubby found out his dad had prostate cancer, we didn't speak for almost 3 days. He needed his time and I wanted to be sure I didn't say the wrong thing. All I can do is suggest that you hug him and let him know that it's OK to be there for you. I know he wants to.

Billy knew what you needed :wink: Animals are so intuitive... it's almost scary sometimes.

Oh Holly, I'm so sorry to hear about your father's condition.
Please understand that some men don't deal with sad news very well, and even though they are hurting along with you, they may not show it on the outside and would tend to stay very quiet to the point of distant (my Dad's like that).
Have Mark sit next to you and ask him to hold you - I'm sure things will be out in the open then.

Holly, I'm soo sorry. Pancreatic cancer is a tough one to cure, or so I've been told. By the time my father's was detected, they didn't even try to cure it. They said he had 6 months, if he did a mantenance type of chemo therapy.

I'm so sorry Holly. I wish I knew what to say or do to bring you even the smallest amount of comfort. I know Mark's heart is in the right place..he just doesn't know what to do..and probably feels helpless to help..like I do right now, like we probably all do right now.
Aren't animals amazing?..They always know what to do.

I always make time to read this thread as I love hearing the latest on Ruben and MIso (and Billy now too!) and you come across as such a lovely person with a great sense of humour, I feel sad that you're having to go through such a difficult time at the moment. Hello all,

Im sorry I havent been around. Its been a terrible week.
On top of my father's prognosis Mark and I broke up the other night. We are back together now, but im sure you guys will appriciate that I dont want to dwell on it.
The emotional trauma of this week has left me feeling like im swimming upstream.

We've spoken to the specialist regarding my father now/.
They cant even give my father a timescale because none of the Doctors patients have survived as long as Dad has with his type of cancer.
We are coming up to the one year mark since Dads first diagnosis and we sort of convinced ourselves that he could live with it. That he would be fine for years.
Being told you dont know if your father will last a week or a year is just.... its indescribable.
They are putting him on a double dose of Chemo to see what they can do, but it will really wipe him out. The doctor told him that he needs to retire now, which finally got through to him though.
Your thoughts and prayers continue to be a light in the gloom. I feel as though you help raise my head when it hangs with the weight of it all.
I hope you all know how much I appriciate it.

Is a head bobbin black beardin son of a gun. There is no carming him down if he glimpses either of the twin terrors.
Im going to try to get a video of him next time. Its just unbelievable coming from such a sluggish easy going beardie I swear! Marks just got an I-Phone so we can upload videos at last without it looking like its been shot with strobe lighting.
Rube is refusing protein again but is still enjoying his salads.
Im trying to hold off as long as possible before I get the babyfood out.

Well the flirting continues. That girls going to get herself into trouble one day I swear!
Mark says if she wore clothes she would be wearing thigh-high boots and a reveiling blouse.
Now theres a mental image for you....
She's really enjoying her new viv and long runs on the floor. I think her strength is really building up in her wrist. She is stil using it as a normal arm, waving with it and supporting herself whilst she goes head-first into her cricket bowl, another thing I have to get a video of.
Now when she see's me get her glass bowl down from her shelf she starts going balistic. Just the bowl will do it! I also cant open her viv to put the bowl in quick enough, she will be scratching at it and will squeeze through as soon as possible to GET AT DA NOMS.

Billy Mays here!
He is still a kamazi machine. He will just walk off your hands into thin air. His latest trick has been when Ive got himout the bath on my knee on a towel and reach down to pull the plug in the bath he will LAUNCH himself off my lap into the bath. Belly flop style.
I screamed the first time he did it, and he's managed once more since. He just has no fear.
Snuggling after lights out is progressing.
Im letting him tucker himself out a bit doing his sprints before Im attempting to calm him down.
ive found that if I can get him to sit still for a second or two and wrap him losely in his robot blankie he will settle. The blankie has to be almost covering his head to start with though at first so he understands that its snuggle time. When I feel the bottom-shuffle I lift it up and begin the stroking.
We've had two sleepy nights together now. Im taking it in turns each night with a different beardie. I think its only fair on the other two, even whilst we're in the taming phase with Billyboots.
