Dubia roaches are considered an invasive species in Florida and pose a risk to the crops there so they're banned. If you can find some discoid roaches, they are allowed in Florida and make for good feeders.

Yes, I live in FL and I tried out some discoid roaches. My beardie loved them. And I prefer them over dealing with crickets too. However they are a little more expensive and especially hard to find this time of year. I asked a around at a few places and they told me they just don't breed as well as dubias. It seems like everywhere I look is out of stock now, or charging 50 dollars for a 100. :-(
But they make a great feeder and when I can get some more I'm going to start a colony to save on money. I would recommend them if you can find them.

And yes Dubias are not native to Fl but we have the climate for them to thrive, and being they are an invasive species, its a no no here. It really is a bummer.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
