So Jojo thought she didn't get enough crickets? Poor girl, but glad you were strong about it  We all are glad Jojo is feeling so much better and that she's healing everywhere. Good for you. We've got awake beardies today, only Issy is still sleeping, she gets woken up tomorrow. Sweetie is out of brumation and eating worms and salad (hand-fed, of course). I enjoy you that Jojo eats her salad every day, most of our dragons have to be hand fed greens and veggies, only Rubio,Issy and Angel will eat a bit of salad but only in the summer, not in the winter. So we hand feed as much as we can. I'm off now until Jan 11, so they'll all be eating their squash and greens.

We all wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR, are you all going to stay up until midnight? We hardly make it past 10p; and I might be staying over at my brother's to watch my two nephews, Cole 9, and Ryder 3 1/2. They're a handful but we all get along famously. It's great to be an aunt, I enjoy myself with them so much. My son's 26, so it's nice to have young boys to watch over, brings back lots of memories. Cole is alot like Eric and they get along really well.

Big HUGS to you from us,
Deborah and my awake dragons, who's to know who will be up tomorrow? Brumation can be difficult!

Well I got some interesting (and exciting)news a little while ago...do you all remember how I did that swab testing of Jojo's cage this past weekend for Tracie?? Well the lab called (a very nice guy) and he said that NO ADENOVIRUS WAS SEEN!! :blob5: :blob8: :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I asked him if this just means that she is not shedding the virus at this time and he said that this means she "does not have Adeno". He said that this swab test is more reliable than the EM fecal test I did in 2007.
Although I am THRILLED, I am also confused. I thought there couldn't be a false negative :? :?

Oh my goodness Michele, didn't know that a false positive was possible. Since it's more reliable than the EM test, it certainly must mean that she doesn't and never did have it. Wonder what Dr Sean would have to say, bet he will be surprised.

Well, even more reasons to be very happy about how WELL she is doing. :p

Thank you Diane! I love the picture,Happy New Year to you and your family too :D :D
Yes,I can't wait to tell Dr Sean,he will be as pleased as I am right now :D
I thought of something though...I DID sterilize her cage very well on Aug 13th *edit,NOV 13th* (when she stayed overnight after her surgery) so maybe I cleaned it so well that this swab test wouldnt be a true test??
I don't know WHAT to think,I am in shock

Thank you Jack,Happy New Year to you too! :D

Hello Michelle,

Great news! :D
Well, cleaning the tank in August should not have skewed the test. Ernie just mentions to allow at least 2 weeks for sufficient adeno particles to build up again, with NO cleaning. I am pretty sure that you did the test correctly.
What this could be telling us is that either Jojo actually did have Adeno initially, but has since then, shed it out permanently. :D
This is exactly why I need people to test! Thanks.
Perhaps you would be willing to test another 1-2 times, spread out every 6 months or so. Just so we can double check to make sure she is a true negative. After 2 I would pretty much guarantee she is a true negative. Ernie recommends following up with at least 1 more test following one negative test, especially if a previous test was positive.

I am very excited for you & Jojo.

Vicky, Jojo sure is full of surprises!!!

I just realized that I made a mistake on the date I sterilized her cage...it wasn't "aug" 13th,it was NOV 13th
Im going to go edit that now

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
