reptisun 10.0 t5 bad for beardies?

I am in a bearded dragon group on Facebook. I posted that I ordered the t5 10.0 but was wondering if I could use a regular fixture instead of an HO.

Numerous people commented that the t5 was not good for beardies and was meant ONLY for rainforest animals (uh what?). They went on to say it would harm my dragons and basically treating me like I know nothing. I already know that these bulbs are fine to use as long as they're far enough away.

So does anyone want to add me on Facebook so I can add you to the group and you can let them know that the t5s are great for dragons?

They already deleted me from the group. I really hope someone on here goes to the group and let's them know. I didn't have a lot of supporting information. Just the basics. So maybe someone can go educate them.

They kept saying it was for rainforest animals and was NOT for bearded dragons.

One girl said "I'm not sure why you're not understanding the information. This bulb is NOT for bearded dragons"

Most of the beardie Facebook groups are absolutly horrible. They promote terrible information and are obviously very ignorant of the equipment and shouldn't be givin any advise at all. It's a shame that they just ban people instead of having dialogue. Fanatics.

I'm guessing they assume anything with 5 in it is the 5.0 (low output) bulbs. The T5 are a better option than the T8 by such a huge margin it's not funny.

I know. I'm just going to stick to this forum. I was getting so mad because she was talking to me like I was one of those people who know nothing about bearded dragons.

I accidentally ordered the 5.0 instead of the 10.0, Ugh. Probably because I was caught up in all the excitement of getting it for 13 dollars! I'm guessing that wouldn't be good enough even in the t5 HO, right? Also, can I use it in a regular t5 fixture for now until I can get an HO one?

The wattage needs to match, I ddint think there are NO T5?
The 5.0 is about half as strong as the 10.0. You can use it, but it needs to be closer. The 10.0 is the way to go.
