Question on brumation.

I was researching on my beardie Eve. And I was wondering if being semi-lazy, barely eating, going from cold to warm side, and no apparent illness or weight loss is it safe to say this is brumation or not?

Well, how old is Eve?

If she's around a year (older than 5-6 months) then it probably is brumation. I'd move a hide or make a new one that is in between the cool and warm sides so she can go in and sleep off the brumation. But if she is less than or is 5-6 months then I'd stop her from sleeping too much.

I've also heard of dragons being lazy and not eating much when they are going to lay eggs. If she's within that age, consider it. And look out for enthusiastic digging.

Otherwise, I'd say it may be pre-brumation. But I'd look for some other opinions, as I'm not a beardie expert.

I've had her for five months. and when I got her she was about half a year old if not a little older.

Then I'd say it's most likely pre-brumation. Like I said before, give her a nice secure hide inbetween the cool and warm sides so she doesn't have to move around as much to get comfy.

If she shows any other odd behavior, I'd post in Health and ask about it.
